AoE Trash drones

Anybody else think it was really weird that Lockdown had his weak-but-cool soldiers, the Steeljaws of death, floaty shooty drones, and rolling balls of kill-ness, but in the middle of all this, we have one of the most stupid looking robots I've ever seen.

I'm sorry, but aside from not caring for the live-action films in general, I thought AoE was the best of the lot. But those googly eyed Trash Drones... They just really bug me.

Am I alone in this?

Yeah, those guys looked really out of place, even considering a lot of the other stuff on the ship were recycled from elsewhere (the floaty drones were the same ones used by the humans in DotM, the rolling ball thing was taken from Battleship, the "regular" minions seemed like they could've been just tweaks of LD himself). The trash drones literally looked like a skinned muppet with plastic vampire fangs -- the kind of thing you'd make to prank somebody but not put in a multi-million dollar blockbuster...

That 's my point. Michael Bay's Transformers, for all their faults, and there are a LOT of them, have ALWAYS looked fantastic. Perhaps their appearance of being made of mashed up car-parts has never appealed to me. But the graphics are stunningly well done. I really dislike the movies, but I love the CGI.

I see your point. The minions were fairly useless and the trash compactor thingy was odd.I liked the Steeljaws wolves, though. I think either Lockdown or the creators modified these organic creatures to help with the hunt.It may be the same for the minions.

I wish the mercenaries had names or something so we could learn more about them. But Michael Bay says that Lockdowns ship is key to the rest of the trilogy

Probably just my imagination, but didn't the ship look kinda like a giant inhuman claw/hand? I wouldn't but it past them to establish it as a piece of Unicron

Not to be rude, since you're new, but it's not considered proper form to advertise another persons thread in a discussion that is unrelated.

I think they looking so radically different from everything else on the ship(including the TRansformers) is to emphasize to Lockdown has been all over the universe and collected a lot of different thing on the way.So, yeah the looking silly is kinda intended/on purpose.

They look kinda goffy.

Was anyone under the impression that Lockdown's ship could look like the inside of Unicron? With all it's passageways and stuff? It reminded me of the battle inside Unicron at the end of the movie from '86. :BOT:

Hey Madem prime or whatever your name is, i was giving a link to something. And why should my " advertising" ( which is a strong word) have any means for you to write that its rude. I thought i was going to help someone based on the oner thread that does have relation to this one.

I didn't mean to be rude, but this is a simple thread about something that bugged me in AoE. Now I've given RSDADDIMUS2's a thread a proper good look, and while I admit he has got some brilliant points regarding the future of the movies, it does not have any context in my little complaint thread.

Again, no offence was intended.
