I realize now that I am very, very, VERY content with animated shows and video games exclusively when it comes to the Transformers.

I can see that you and I are going to have problems. Your other post, you went off on me pretty badly, and your apology was rather hollow.
Now, you're in this thread telling us what we can or cannot do?
Not going to win points here, chief.

They can mostly do scaling, just make the model with similar dimensions to a normal-sized Transformer scaled up. From a distance it won't even look bad at all, for close ups they can just use a hi-res segment.

Now mind you, I don't mean going the "Cloudlactus" route - I mean NOT SHOWING HIM, beyond possibly some ancient Cybertronian scribble dug up somewhere that shows some primitive scrawl of some big devil-horned, bat-winged, vaguely-humanoid armored figure - Unicron in his original form, I guess, so as to give SOMETHING to Hasbro to make a toy out of. Basically, I'd turn him into a more intangible and unseen demigod who wants our planet for something BESIDES good eatin', wink, wink.
And yes, I said OUR planet. Assuming there's actually anything left of Cybertron - personally, I like to think that there isn't, for reasons that I think would make great sequel fodder later on - the threat IMO just isn't going to be strong enough if it's a planet other than ours in jeopardy.

A good idea but you gotta remember the Transformers fanbase is still carrying torches and pitchforks over the movieverse character designs. What makes you think it wouldn't be a worse reaction to Unicron going from tangible threat to intangible Fantastic Four 2-esque Galactus thing? Their collective nerdrage would ignite the atmosphere (or at least their neckbeards).

There are certainly enough slain decepticons, that's for sure

But that's too simple to be made.
