As a Transformer fan I want to see more Transformers but I realize that they would not make a successful movie by doing that. Most of us love the original animated movie, but it didn't fare well in the theater. Nor would that same movie do well again in 2007.
I'm going to take a stab at this, but maybe the 86 film wasn't successful because it killed off so many characters. Whose going to want to watch a movie when nearly all of the favorite characters die?
With that aside, I don't mind the human element, kind of need them to show the awe of the Transformers, it's just I prefer some of the humans over others (Lennox, Epps> than Sam and GF)
And I really don't like it when there is a long scene of pure mayhem going on, and no Autobot around. I got a little PO during the driller crashing through the building, because I knew it was taking money away from the budget that could have been used to show how Bumblebee, Ratchet, Dino and Q got caught, but Sideswipe manage to get away.......
I like the overall movies, but they could have been much, much better!
Edit...........I loved the first one, it's what got me into the franchise. The second and third movies I enjoyed, but there would have been things I definitely would have changed. First main thing, swap out Skids and Mudflap for Sideswipe and Sunstreaker! Probably would have made the movie perfect for me. Third, I wanted a couple of more standoffs with Autobots Sideswipe and Dino during the Chicago battle. This could have occurred during the time the Autobots got caught, and have a eulogy for Ironhide at the end, then the movie would have been perfect.
