As for his whole "HAI GUISE! GUESS WOT!? I BANGED MEGAN FOX WHILE I WAS ACTING IN TRANZFERMORZ!!!" Yes, that was a real stupid thing for him to do. Nobody cares that he banged the hot chick on the set, but rubbing some salt into that wound that was her getting booted out of the 3rd movie because Spielberg is trash, has-been... This made me lose tons of respect for "The Beef".
TL;DR - I wouldn't make an effort to get his autograph or even meet him if he was at a Botcon, nor would i go outta my way to watch any of his movies that didn't involve a subject-matter I was interested in.

Let's just see how he fares.

From my understanding from reading all the botcon official panel reports & on-line q & a interviews. micheal bay, steven spielberg, & the 3 writters of the movies SAID THE ROLE OF SAM & HIS SITUATIONS WERE BUILT AROUND THE ACTORS SHIA LE BOUF ONLY 1-d Comedic acting skills.
In other words Shia le bouf didn't step into a role that was already established for someone else for the TF movies, this role was tailored for him & being constanty tailored for him. Because miheal bay keeps saying he's funny & can lighten up the TF movies with his comedic talents & quirky reactions.

Yeah, i realize that. But what i'm talking about was the role of "Spike" all together in the G1 cartoons. I never really cared for it. Thats just me. As far as his acting in the movies, yeah, i liked what he did with it.
I just don't like all the post-movie drama that came from him and therefore, hes not exactly one of my favorite people due to it.
vegetacron wrote:It really is. People have enough drama from their real lives that having the non-fictional drama from famous people's lives mixed in with their fictional stories is usually a bad thing.
When we think of famous people, we tend to think of that one "thing", talent, or character that the famous person has done. This thing/talent/character is what kind of immortalizes them. John Wayne is a pretty good example. Everyone knows him as "The Duke" or one of the greatest, on-screen cowboys to ever live. He is immortalized by this. But did you know that he made the following comment to Playboy magazine back in May of 1971:
"With a lot of blacks, there's quite a bit of resentment along with their dissent, and possibly rightfully so. But we can't all of a sudden get down on our knees and turn everything over to the leadership of the blacks. I believe in white supremacy until blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don't believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people."
Now, i know that its a new time and political issues vary from time to time, but back then, something like this would be an outrage for an actor if everyone had read it. Fact is, most american people didn't read Playboy, so the comment didn't get a whole of attention. Hes not known for being a racist.
Skip ahead 40 years. We have the internet and so many news outlets, that we have websites that make money by finding that news and grouping it into particular news site devoted to a certain genre or culture. By and by, we are a billionth more informed now than we ever were about what is going on in the world and what people are doing and saying.
So the attention a celebrity is getting now, as opposed to 40 years ago, is much greater and therefore, they really have to watch what they say and who they say it to, because it could show up in those media outlets and turn public opinion down on them.
It was great Shia was playing this character and bringing a little fun to the movies and etc, etc...but after reading what he said regarding the actresses he acted alongside of, it just shows how much more of a chauvinist pig he is in real life.
Now, if i don't particularly care for chauvinist pigs in real life, what kind of opinion would I have of a celebrity if they exhibited that kind of behavior in public or doing an interview?
Tyrannotaur wrote:I will be honest, I just glanced through this thread. But I can't bring myself to hate on Shia Lebouf. The guy was Louis Stevens throughout the latter part of my childhood. I find him very likable and have never had a problem with him. Even in Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull he didn't bother me. His role as Sam in the transformers movies has never bothered me, and I never saw what the big problem was with putting a human face in a movie about giant robots from space. I think the problem is however that we spend too much time on other humans and not enough on the central human or the cybertronians. I don't think Sam is the problem. I had more problems with Leo in ROTF than I had with Sam in the whole franchise.
ReDPATH wrote:I don't hate Shia but I don't really care for him either.
All of THE posturing in interviews while I can appreciate in terms of not being politically correct. At the same time he does himself more public image harm than good.
Quite frankly he says he is done with the franchise which again strikes me as a dumb PR move. He does not get much work away from the TF franchise. He basically has to hope something pans out for Indy 5 or go back on his choice to leave this franchise because this franchise is his career ATM.
