My bet is the factory that made the initial run for has/tak ran extra copies to sell to third party vendors.

I'm kinda blown away by that. Especially if the price is significantly lower than the original, and knowing that anyone selling the original right now is getting some pretty large markup.

Of course, this could be all for naught if Hasbro ever announces that they will release Sideswipe.

Wow that's crazy! but if these pictures are real and not photo-shopped there's an easy tell

his Eyes are blue. The real one's eyes are much more metallic and will not photograph like that. but I guess we really have no way to really tell until we see this inhand.

Given the various QC issues seen with the Takara release, this may do pretty well. I mean it can't be much worse!

I don't remember hearing QC issues with MP Sideswipe. What did you experience?

This thread has been upgraded to the official Toys thread now thanks to GetRightRobot!

Maybe if this Lambor mold gets the full on KO treatment then perhaps we'll see some repaints a little sooner than the official releases?
Remember all those CHMS Sideswipe repaints that KOToys knocked out!

As Banjo-Tron linked above, I had many problems with my MP Lambor but I now believe mine was one of the 'loose' factory rejects which, like most of the latest Transformers, get listed by questionable China based Ebay sellers (366offer; lena81822) where no guarantee of build quality is offered.

My 'official' MP had been mis-assembled and required pin removal and his torso switching around, plus it looks like someone has been eating his head!

I love a good KO so I for one will be keeping an eye on this... :saint:

Mel's was a probable factory reject but other people have noticed crappy (and in some cases almost transparent) paint apps. I think some other guy on the same thread had an issue with the knee of the figure, and theirs was official.
