Going back to the topic... (before complaints pile up against our famous cliches..)

"there are a lot of them this time. " is not a very reassuring line. (Especially coming from a liar.)

A lot can mean a dozen, for you and me. Maybe even a battalion.

But it can also mean 2 to 3 new guys with a lot of new parts or dizzying sizes.

How does it insult or berate the fans? The guy just wants his project to remain a secret, so does the studio. Its no worse than people hacking his computer, a crime, to get info on the film and share it illegally with us. And what about the death threats? Read what Bay said, he said he was "going to leak a lot of false information all over the place."

If he SAYS something it's true because he's basically making an official statement.

If he is leaking information, wouldn't he need to be the one giving that information, which may or may not be true?

That there will be new robots is a forgone conclusion, they need the Wow-effect these robots will bring and Hasbro wants to sell more toys (and sometime the variants don't sell anymore). I'd be surprised if there actually weren't any new charactes.

But otherwise, I think, Bay will knowingly or unknowingly give false information which will later be written off as those "wrong leaks" he promised. It's actually an easy way to keep face and keep the fans docile, because everything they don't like, will be written off as "wrong leak" till the movie actually comes out.

Then make is a secret. I have nothing against that. In fact, i agree to the secrecy.

But not to the creating of misleading items.

And if this crazy scheme is meant as a revenge for the death threats, it's unnecessary. He shouldn't stoop so low.

You can't fight evil with another evil.

Just stay your course. Do the right thing. Don't go down and do the dirty fights just because some fan started it.

He's a big guy. Stay big and respectable.

Hes not doing it as some sort of "revenge" he is trying to keep things secret and this is the way to do it. Fight fire with fire. If he releases info then that will stop paparazzi TF nerds trying to hack his computer or whatever to get some new info.

This way the fans get a taste for things to come but simply wont know for certain which IMO is doing them a good deed because they wont have everything spoiled for them, and people like me who want to be left in the dark and not have the movie totally spoiled for us by obsessive compulsive TF fans with nothing better to do will have nothing to worry about.

This also helps the hype machine immensely and will eventually result in even bigger box office takings which will help with further sequels which means new toys for us to collect.

Just keep it a secret. Simple. Period.

By "a lot," I hope he means a nice tidy number, say around five. Two more jetcons, one motorcyclebot, and two more carbots should do nicely.

What I hope he changes is giving more time to the robots. I don't want to see a ton of human scenes unless its the military, and I am not interested in seeing Sam and Mikaela make out. If they are in it, they had better be adding something to the movie.

No. He is just doing his job and by the sounds of it he simply enjoys working with the source material so he wants to make more, that and anything with the TF name on it will make a shedload of money. He doesnt care about fans, he doesnt have any sort of sentimental connection to the source material like we do. He just wants to do his job and have fun and earn a living and the studio just want to make a crapload of money again. This is the movie business, thats how things work.

If anything we owe Bay after the shameful way that "fans" have acted towards him and his work.

Well, I don't care anymore how the bots are going to look like because Bay will make them very ugly and unrecognizable, but I'm excited to see the second movie!

I wonder if the Decepticons will get personalities this time around (aside from Megatron & Frenzy).

Any progress will be ruined by some useless plot angle regarding some over-the-top stereotypical minority character as "comic relief".
Or maybe we can have one of these new and interesting Transformer characters take a dump on someone in this movie.
Or maybe we can have the constructicons in the movie for five minutes before some really brave army guy jumps off of high building, pops his parachute, and kills him by shooting him with a slingshot and a grenade.

*The movie isn't baised around humans
*It has the same characters from transformers one
*There is no time traviling (In the screen play or otherwise)
*It dosen't hire any one from high school musical or hair spray
*They dont brake in to song
*Or dance
*Is realistic(Or as realistic as transformers can get)
*It dose not contain sex seans
*The robots don't fall in love
*we don't find out the robot can reproduce
*the animation is still as good as the first film
*None of the autobots get owned by arcce (if she in the flim)
*It dose not turn into a chick flick

don't worry I'll come up with some more my mayger consern is that it won't be set on earth or based around the characters and story line as the first film.

I feel the same way - I hope they introduce a good amount like 5 - 6 new bots while developing further the surviving ones from the first.

I dont think bay would lie about something good for the movie so i guess hes not lying.

I hope Soundwaves in it! If Bay sticks to making all the Decepticons military or authoritative vehicles he should make Soundwave a stealth bomber! It would remind me of Soundwave from the cybertron series a little bit.
