Admittedly this guy is one of the best toys I've seen from Transformers, Hasbro or Takara period. I hope this might persuade Hasbro to make a leader class version based on the IDW version, I want my favorite zealot!

Be careful with the antennas too. They have this nasty tendency to pop out.

chuck, just by passing, is "Saber's" (the smaller 'bot) foot from from defects? The right foot of mine has a mold blemish. Kind of like you scratch a blade on it ala Wolverine's claws.

Sorry to hear that. My Saber's feet are fine and the figure stands well. Are you having problems getting it to stand? Outside of the foot issue I mean.

Why the backgrounder? I noticed in several youtube reviews of him, almost to the point of trolling, posters would try to derail the review. Often mentioning they're having no connection to the character etc etc.
You know what guys, no judgement here but at least try watching the Victory series first? Despite being a glorified kiddy (more kiddier aside for the wanton destruction and killing of humans) ad for the line, the story flowed more like a Lone Wolf and Cub plot except unlike Masterforce (which to my opinion ended two episodes short), the series ended even more shorter (maybe due to the small number of toys to sell in the toyline and the already waning popularity of the franchise).
Starsaber? He's like an analog for Convoy/Optimus using a Japancentric characterization. Convoy is, well, an American cowboy/G.I. Joe feel with the sense of doing the right thing......just the way Peter Cullen portrayed him excellently.
Star is basically the same albeit the Japanese version. Convoy was more of a big brother or so to Spike while Star was a dad to Jean. Maybe it's the cultural devide that turns off other fans from liking him?
On how Takara portrayed him, while re watching the previous series, I especially like how cool Star was in the first three episodes when the Destrons ambushed him during Jean's enrollment. Then the fast tempo of his theme song and the repetitious 100x canned "gatai" sequences.........no wonder the Japanese fans voted for him overwhelmingly.Just like that annoying headache relief menthol stick ads in cable a few years ago............it really sticks to you that you can't help but liking him.
Try getting him while you still can guys!

Here, here! When I bought G1 Starsaber and Victory Lio I knew nothing of them as characters, they were just REALLY cool toys, and still are.

Some people hate for the sake of hating. Even worst are commentors who go to 3 or more different reviews of him to bash the figure. Kind of cyberstalking the figure and yet doesn't own one. Mind boggling indeed.
