Okay, so I'm probably waaaay overthinking this, but its just a though.
So Ratchet's new Beast Hunters toy is a huge homage to Dinobot II. In season 3 of Beast Wars, Dinobot was reborn on the side of the predacons, only to sacrifice himself for the maximals at the end of the season. Could Ratchet possibly join the Decepticons early in the season, only to sacrifice himself for the Autobots in the finale? Its been stated that there will be side switching on both sides, and Jeffery Combs said that season 3 would be the end, only to later confirm a season 4. He might've meant the end for Ratchet.
Again, I could be looking way to far into a simple Homage, but its fun to think about.

Whoa, who said anything about not agreeing? The look on his face when he learned what Optimus did on Cybertron, I'd be surprised if he didn't consider jumping ship.

But I think Ratchet's pissed off the most out of all of the Autobots right now. I think he's pretty much lost all hope.

But not to the point he would join the Decepticons. He may have walked away from his friendship with Optimus, but I don't believe for an instant that Prime sacrificing Cybertron would be the catalyst for Ratchet to join the Decepticons.

If anything he'll go it alone, probably team up with Wheeljack.

I definitely agree. Ratchet's been around a long time and been through a lot, and this was definitely a blow that will take a while to recover from, but it doesn't really feel in his nature to switch sides. Walk away from everything completely, yeah, but not switch sides.

I could see Ratchet being forced back into the Cons, either by way of a shell program or through some twisted perversion of Synth-En, which has already affected his system. I don't see him changing sides willingly. He may be disappointed with Optimus, but Ratchet knows only too well what a madman Megatron is.

Either he's brainwashed, or Megs gets knocked out of circulation long enough for someone else to lead the Decepticons and call Ratchet over to the dark side.

I think I am having a memory lapse.. when did IronHide make his first appearance in transformers prime? Was that in season 2? I can't recall for some reason.

Ironhide's never been in TF:P and according to the writers and producers, he probably won't be for some time.

Anyways... It looks like we do have to wait until the fall to see season 3, but we do get a TV movie!
