Actually, probably never happening because the show model cheated a lot in going from mode to mode, and engineering her to look right in both modes, or even to look right in one mode without the other becoming a total disaster, seems likely to be physically impossible.
Easy peasy: SHELLFORMING!
Arctorro wrote:Maybe Grimlock could have a combiner head that was similar to the old Landfill and Wedge was just the chest armour, would still work well. Wedge would still basically be what he was in R.I.D.Nemesis Primal wrote:Arctorro wrote:Wedge would still work really well as the smallest team member. I'm sure they could do a standard five member team (doubt a $150 Landfill will sell as well as Devastator) with Wedge the sixth Legend figure as the chest and head. Grimlock = torso, Hightower = limb, Heavy Load = limb and maybe a cement mixer and front end loader. That is a very Constructicon-like line up, so maybe the two new members could have different alt modes, but Wedge would still work well.
The Combiner Wars packaging doesn't tend to mention the sixth member from what I've been seeing, so Grimlock should maybe still have the head (or an alternate head).
And for the two new guys, different alt modes would be good, especially since this would be an opportunity to make a steamroller Transformer, which would be an alt-mode Hasbro's never done before. As for the other guy, I seem to recall a (non-fiction) TV show where guys were digging out a cave and one of the things they used to do it was sort of like a real-life drill tank, maybe that could work?
Good ideas on the alt modes, a drill tank would probably be a given if the Technobots are really going to happen next year. Can't be that many repaint/retool options there.
Would Hasbro even can that it wasn't close enough to the real thing? These days it is common for them to modify an alt mode to look like a real world vehicle while having a number of minor differences or just make up something new that could fit in with the real world.Nemesis Primal wrote:I'd like Wedge to offer an alternate head so the head can be orange.
Glad you like the alt-mode ideas I offered up, though I'm not sure the real tunneling tool is close enough to Nosecone to share tooling.

Besides, I'm sure what many think of as a "tunnelling machine" is closer to Nosecone thanks to Hollywood.

cannon eh? y'know what i just though of... he could technically still have a gun mode. bein all purple and stuff has gotta make the whole legal issues with gun toys easier to avoid. if you want the whole G1 thing i mean. im cool with the tanks and cannons (and satellites?) he's been lately.ThatOneMoose wrote:I suppose it's because Shockwave is one of my favorite transformers, and I think it would be awesome to get a big version of him that could transform into a huge cannon.shajaki wrote:why leader? on the topic of shockwave, none of the recent ones fit my C/G tastes. KFC's mugan mold sure has gotten around... and i came sooooooo close to getting their soundwave. but KFC's bad wrap always stopped me from pulling the trigger.
i might pull the trigger on this though:
KFC Mugan Amputare (loose) @chimung for $34.90

Particularly the drill part itself, I want a terrifying mass of interconnected augers that looks like it chewed its way out of hell, rather than a single elegant drill.
Because they produce sh**. I've also heard a lot of bad things about that mould. Seriously, every official Shockwave ever made is better quality.ThatOneMoose wrote:Also why does KFC have a "bad wrap ( )" as you put it? Have they been known to not have good product or something? KFC has had quality issues in the past. supposedly theyre doing better work these days, but the mugens were back in the "sketchy" days.ThatOneMoose wrote:I actually prefer a cannon/tank to his gun mode. Come to think of it, I actually think a walking tank mode would be cool for Shockwave. I would kinda envision this alt mode similar to that of the "Walker" from the game Destiny (a game I don't play, but I've had to sit through a couple of friends' [who are addicted to that game] play sessions). I think a 4 legged tank would be a great fit for good ol Shockwave. Also why does KFC have a "bad wrap ( )" as you put it? Have they been known to not have good product or something? Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.
i pondered reaaal hard about getting him, he's been on super sale a few times. but isnt he kinda just a display case for legion class figures? which i dont have....Cobotron wrote:Coming from left field here, and probably the only collector that would ever ask or care for this...but a Ultra Magnus style repaint of Cyberverse Optimus Maximus. Had to resort to using my own photo, as there is no Seibertron gallery for this guy. Furthering the truth that I am the only person on earth who would care.
Ahhhh... ya. He is kinda one of the dumbest Transformer toys ever made. His Alt mode is him, sitting down. that being said, I like him, 'cause I got a bunch of guys to climb on him. I can say with all confidence, you don't need him.shajaki wrote: but isnt he kinda just a display case for legion class figures? which i dont have....

Starting to ponder taking a stab at my first custom paint job.
