It's also much smaller than I'd like Astrotrain to be. This guy here though is pretty much perfect, especially since I actually love that colour scheme and can put him next to my G1 Astrotrain to show the evolution of the engineering with both of them having the same colour scheme.

Oh, I don't disagree with you at all. I like that Classics is an updated bullet train. I like how the shuttle looks and that they kept the overall G1ish look in bot mode. But, I can definitely see the love for this Toyworld guy, especially if someone has a personal connection to the G1 toy.

Thanks, and I can totally get behind the classics toys' Robot mode. It is impressive that Hasbro was able to pull it off when the figure also included two updated alt modes .

The mold definitely has its shortcomings, especially compared to the Generations figures we have today, but that Astrotrain has his merits.

Wonder how long it will take some American based import sites to receive TW Devilstar. Hpoefully it's only One or Two weeks.
It took most American Import sites Five Weeks to Receive TW Infinitor, After Chimung had it in stock for over Five weeks. Wondering if Chimung gets a few weeks exclusive selling rights from TW. Perhaps overseas shipping or The Christmas season shipping slowed down the release.

Devilstar is colored in Vintage Takara 1985 Astrotrain toy colors.

Yup, but only the train mode, the rest is based on the Hasbro version of the toy:
It makes for a pretty killer train mode.
rpetras wrote:Mostly what I want are the show colors. But I'd also be down for a version in the "real world" colors a la the original Takara version.
I'll be skipping this odd mix of colors, but will be awaiting the inevitable repaints.
As far as sculpt, the thing looks great!
Tsutsukakushi wrote:Think Devilstar's robot mode is colored more like the Takara G1 toy.
Colored less like the Hasbro G1 robot toy.
Noticed most of the colored purple parts on Devilstars robot mode. Were not on the Takara or Hasbro G1 Astrotrain toy. Most notable the Vintage toy does not have any feet.
Did notice TW, Colored Devilstar's weapons in the Hasbro G1 Astrotrain toy colors.

Are they sure to be inevitable?

Aside from death and taxes, nothing is 100% inevitable.
But I strongly suspect these repaints to happen.
