Here is my take on a few bits in the trailer.

The excavator is the first Constructicon on Earth. He has it out with Prime and the Autobots towards the begining of the movie. He is chased off (or something) and not seen for a while. Towards the end of the movie, all parties converge in Egypt because of the Fallen. At that point, the remaining Constructicons come to Earth, scan alt modes, and merge for the kill. I came to this idea because of the protoforms that crash in Egypt as seen in the trailer.

The Fallen and Jetfire are different characters. I agree with other that the bot in the clip with Scorponok is Jetfire and the bot in Egypt is the Fallen.

I still think the fleet is attacked because they are partolling the Laurentian Abisys. Originally I thought this might be an opening seen, but I have changed my mind. I think either the Audi being chased by the cycles or the excavator unleashing destruction is the opening seen (both could actually be part of the same scene). It is the emergence of these new Cons that causes the military to set up patrols of the abisys. I think Ravage is one of the Cons and that is why he is shown emerging from the ocean.

The seen with Bumblebee looks to be taking place at Sam's parents house.

There are at least eleven new transformers. Here is what I counted:

The first shot in the trailer is two (at least) protoforms
crashing in Paris.

There are at least four protoforms that crash in the Egyptian
desert.

There are at least five protoforms that crash into the carrier.

I think it is Sam who is running along the side of the great pyramid.

Makayla (sp) has a ring on her wedding ring finger. It is not diamond. Might her and Sam be engaged?

Another thing . . . I orginally thought Prime took a punch to the face, but it looks more like an elbow or forearm--like someone is swinging their arm backwards (or to the side) at him.

Welcome to Seibertron susanspy. You are jumping in at a very...interesting time. The boards are rather emotionally charged lately and it has made for some fascinating discussions and we are glad to have new members input and fresh perspectives on stuff.

St. Even, nice job on the count. I was too wrapped up in taking in everything else (all 4 times) that I stopped trying to count after the 3rd viewing. And nice job spotting the ring. I'm going to have to get my "radar" checked because I totally missed that. I must be slipping in my old age.

As for Primes shot to the face, I'm pretty sure he wasn't worried about the particulars when it impacted. However it was delivered, that hit HAD to hurt! :shock:

As a trailer I found it incredibly underwhelming, until it stopped that annoying "fade to black" ****. Even then, rehashing scenes that were used in the teaser? DOIN IT WRONG.

I'm loving that constructicon, I'm glad that skorponok is back, it's cool to see Bumblebee in action...

but who's skorponok lunging at? Why the heck does he have a cane, that looks pretty dumb. It would perfectly explain Jetfire, considering how hunched over he is. And I can't figure out who's smashin around in the middle ofEgypt, or is that the desert? Itmight be the fallen....

And it looks likethe thing right behind Barricade is the toy motorcylce bot we saw, it's rolling on one wheel.

One more thing, what's sam Holding? It looks like robotic eyelashes, part of the pretender woman?

Fantastic 1986 TF Movie reference (spoken by Megatron commanding Devastator to combine) Love it!

Exactly why I thought Seekers. 5 more protoforms conviently on an airgraft carrier: Sky Warp, Thundercracker, Ramjet, Thrust, Dirge.

I could see your theory for Devastator working. Kinda have all the TF's fight to defeat the Fallen. A small sigh of relief "Glad that's over". Then a nice little tap on the shoulder and HOLY MOTHER F***ING S**T it's Devastator!!!! And then cut to black, leaving a sequel open in TF3!!!

Man, I can't wait.

I don't know about the underwater thing (though it's not a bad idea) but we know Megatron's returning. He was sighted in the original teaser during the Super Bowl, we've seen leaks of the FAB, and he's rumored to be the 3rd Leader Class figure we're receiving this year.

Hasbro's press release mentions three LC figures this year, Optimus and Jetfire (they didn't mention the 3rd one) but we already know The Fallen is a Voyager. (His instructions have been leaked online as well.)

So yeah, Megatron's back.

Thank primus for movie passes. Looks like a kick ass action movie but a poopy transformer one. So how many explosions do you think bay will try and fit in this one? I still say that steamshovel thrust lookin thing is Bonecrusher. Sounds just like he did in the first one and the head is similar.

Seriously??? This one has a definite TF feel to it, whereas the first one could've been a toss up as to what it was, had it not been for the name being included in the trailer.

No, this one seems to succeed where the first one left a lot to be desired.

This one screams TransFormers to me. The first one could've been Transmorphers. (lol)

I am soooo glad that Devestator is not the wheeled thing. This movie looks to be a history maker. Can't hardly wait. I like that it appears that Bay was influenced by War Within. Hopefully he gets a little deeper in this one with the wonder and mystery of the Transformers' origins and destiny.

I for one, DO believe that Megatron will be back. However (sorry for rehashing what another thread has discussed), we can only speculate that we see Megatron's hand in the Super Bowl Ad. Furthermore the the 3rd leader class toy could still be The Fallen. Yes... we've seen the Voyager leaked photos of The Fallen, but remember Megatron and Optimus prime had both Voyager and Leader class toy releases during the first movie. Same could likely happen for The Fallen.

(By the way... I must have missed reading that Jetfire was going to be a Leader Class release... I'll have to look again on the net)

So... guaranteeing Megatron's return is a little silly at this point without further proof IMHO. Feel free to "believe" he'll be back (like I am), but hold your guarantees til we know more (which might not be until June... who knows).

BACK TO THE TOPIC OF THIS THREAD: I agree that we see the Fallen in Egypt in this new trailer. Cool. And I like the Seekers idea for the (supposed/probable) Deceps crashing into the aircraft carriers and jets in the ocean. That would be very cool.

I also wonder if this photo is Jetfire:

I know a Legends toy doesn't always have too much detail to them, but it could be Jetfire that Scorponok is lunging at.

These days I rarely ever post, frankly I think one of these days I'll probably end up forgetting that I'm even a member of these boards due to the fact that I don't think my stay here has been close to pleasant, but I'll post right here and now and just say, that. was. epic.

Am I the only one who feels a jurassic park vibe with this trailer? Must've been the sound effects.

But if it's too serious, looses any fun factor, it might tank with critics becuase this was one of the biggets pros for the whole thing

I thought all transfans want a serious film version...And actually the first got mixed reviews. Fun itself is subjective, so technically one can't speak for what this one will have on enjoyability levels and how the critics criquing it find to be "fun."

it was mindless and action packed, but fun and enjoyable.

To be honest I don't see how the first was mindless, though not thought provoking I don't see it as a brainless movie like alot of peoeple view it as. And wait, "Action packed" as a negative for a Transformers related product? What comics and cartoons have I been reading/watching?! And technically, fun and enjoyable are pretty much the same thing.

But I've since learned and accepted that Michael Bay can't do good scifi/action/good-storytelling movies.

The Rock had a good story. And the Islnad proved he could handle complexed themes.

Perhaps I'm being a bit objective, so I'll put the "in my opinion" block right now.

All in all, I've found a great addition to my grad party...
