This is actually good news. Now the Dinobots are safe from getting completely screwed up by Bay. I think the real reason why they wont be in it is because hes to lazy to think of an interesting and intelligent way to include them. I can think of many. On another note, does he like any Transformers? Other then the really stupid ones hes made and or fraked up? Maybe hes just getting smart, maybe he finally learned not to mess with the fan favorites. Now if only he'd learn we want him away from the franchise we'll be in business. But how in the hell could any one not like the Dinobots?

The biggest reason for not having Dinobots is the fact that continue to try and hold on to the robots IN DISGUISE thing.

Kinda got blown out of the water in the last movie with the Fallen announcing the presence of Transformers on Earth, don'tcha think?

This actually reminds me of something I wondered when watching RotF: Where does the movie series go from here? With the revelation of an alien presence on Earth, how does the world at large react?

I mean the final battle from the first movie takes place in a populated area. The second movie shows that at least one NEST operation was in the wide open(the Shanghai scene). Add in the Fallen's broadcast to the world. Can the fictional world's governments cover all that up? Will the third movie go with the Autobots and Decepticons as known entities to the general public? If so, I'm sure Dinobots can be worked in to be okay in the movie's context since the robots no longer have to be in disguise.

They could tone the robots down in the third film and focus on the relationship between the Humans and Transformers. Instead of an epic robotic slugfest you could have a more human orientated story. Mind you when going to see a film called Transformers i would expect to see more robots then humans.

I do agree with you though after ROTF there cover is pretty much blown and its going to be a lot easier to introduce the Dinobots if they decide to do so.

I honestly think Bay is more for the fame and the quick bucks. Because the plot, lack of character in the characters, use of military hook ups, use of special effects that are not really needed, it's safe to say to some degree the movie isn't much for the fans.

Yea, I agree. I can't wait to see how he ruins Freddy Krueger. Nightmare on Elm Street was the only one of the big horror franchises I liked. Maybe he'll give him a gold tooth too.

It's a huge ass truck with flames on it.
If I wanted to hide, I wouldn't get into something that could easily be spotted.

And I'm not saying that because I'm a Dinobot fan. I don't really like the Dinobots. Not that I would jump at a set of Encore or Universe Dinobots. But if a director just flat out hates the ideas he's presented with, get rid of him! A directors job is to illustrate the writers vision. Not to rewrite the script as he sees fit. The writers write the story. The actors act it out. The director is in the middle, directing the actors to accurately depict what is written in the script. How much more simple do I have to make it?

1- its a movie with GIANT ALIEN ROBOTS that TALK and can TRANSFORM into things they scan.... Logic and reality went out the door back in 1984 with the whole TF concept began in that regard

2- why would they have to be mechanical robotic looking? why couldnt they have updated "Jurassic Park" graphics in their alt modes? (like a beast wars alt mode) if they dont like showing the dino modes- then in a crazy twist of G1 irony, in this series, they prefer staying in their bot modes more than dino modes??

3- yet, if bay is in it, they would only get messed up.. from the director who said he didnt like the Arcee character but featured the stupid twins? maybe thats bc you guys messed up the arcee character to begin with??

no worries. even if he did put the Dinobots in the third movie they would probably have less than 30 seconds of actual screen time, and MAYBE one of them would say something irrelevant at best.

I don't know,after watching Rotf,I've had a hard time trying to continue to support this movie but I personally think that Michael Bay is a lazy director in MOST cases.The Construticons were horribly done and confusing.(Not design-wise as so much it is execution.The "individual parts seemed to die out before forming Devastator and it is even confirmed in the toys that the dead Constructicon makes up a good portion of Devastator.)They were also too many clones in the near-end fight scenes that don't even have alts and Arcee and Jetfire were not that well fleshed out.Hell I enjoyed the 80s animated film more than this garbage.Oh and.....

Optimus Prime dies in the animated film and never comes back.(until the end of season 3.
I just hope that someday in the future,someone will pick up where Bay left off and do things right.

If he was referring to the cartoon Dinos I agree with him. I don't like them either. But in the comics, they were badasses. Even if Shockwave beat them in prehistoric times. I would hope to see at least Grimlock in TF3. He was such a major character, he shouldn't be ignored. Just like Shockwave on the Decepticon side. They could write in Shockwave as one of the Fallen's Seekers like Jetfire was in RoTF. But not as an idiotic waste of time as Jetfire was, but as a ruthless badass who shared the Fallen's hatred for humns and did everything he could to annhilate them. That would be cool. 'Cause honestly, Megatron lost all his moxie from the first film in RoTF due to the combined effect of being the Fallen's bitch and getting his ass beat repeatedly by Optimus Prime. His only redeeming quality, if you will, as a Decepticon was that he stabbed and shot Prime in the back. So, bottom line, Bay needs to STFU and include some Dinosauce, as long as it's from the comics.

adding the dinobots is realy, realy easy.

1st movie sector 7 was located in the hoover damn, a major tourest attraction.
they basically hid the base, and all its special contents in plain sight.

so now in the 3rd movie, the spocial forces group (the 3rd moives equivlent to sector 7) also has an under ground base. this time they hide it under an amusement park, with roloar coasters the works.
the amusment park in this case is themed after dinosaurs.

This would make the dinobots, want to have thier dinosaur modes so they can sit right in the middle of the amusement park as senteries to protect the hidden base.

and any combat involving them in dinosaur mode, can be swept under the rug as one of the parks fake publicity stunt.

you can even have various park rides with pictures of the g1 dinobots by them.
like Swoop over the giant spinning swing ride.

Hrm, well, can't have the entire Transformers mythos crammed in 3 movies' worth of CGI and explosions, can we? That, and I'm fairly confident in Kurtzman and Orci screwing them up - Bay isn't to be blamed for ROTF's subpar plot (don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the movie lots), they are.

I can see it: if they did come through people would be either complaining about how they don't resemble their G1 (caveman) selves, loving them, or some not satisfied and clamoring for movie-style cityformers, targetmasters (pretty possible), headmasters (impossible) and much more. There's no satisfying some fans.

I definitely love Dinobots. They're definitely the best TF team that had first match with Constructicon's Devastator. I'm really sad that Bay had said that he hated Dinobots whereas many do love it. Well, why not just do this for the fans, not for his own liking?

Well Bay can hate em, but long as they re used well or not at all im ok with it. Truthfully since screen time seems be hard come by, they could just introduce solely Grimlock, and have him scan for local lifeforms in the earth data base(they can even show him doing this on the descend to earth, talking in cybertronian to the others.) and come across the T rex and falling in love with the design like he did in IDW when he saw it as he said he needed something with bite. Then when Sam sees him one of the other autobots goes hes always been more of a wild beast...rather unpredictable, why he picks the alt modes he does. if they wanted include the other dinobots, then have Sam just say so theres a bunch of dinobots, and they reply they like that name.

Well theres always the endorsement angle(the real reason bay hates them haha.), the dinobots wont turn into anything that makes money. Ok you capitalist dogs..have the dinobots turn into vechiles like Slag turns into an armored car and his robot mode is the dinosaur. Just say they arent too bright and got confused what they were scanning for. That way they can be disguised but still work in the dino modes.

Theres probably dozens of ways work it in, but all depends on how big of a deal you wanna make it. Given they can make pretenders, bugs, and other wild animals who arent even the proper size or shape, it wouldnt be a crime use dinosaurs in my mind. Just only real point for me is there enough screen time deal with another 1-5 autobots with a special gimmick. I dont know if they can do it right to warrent it.

Ultimately we re going need a new batch of decepticons so thats the bigger issue here. Though a few extra autobots couldnt hurt.

Michael Bay will do a version of the dinobots.

My prediction is that they will be a bunch of the damn annoying kitchen bots, but just turn into dino alt modes. That way the marketing team can have their product placement. Bay can have more things to blow up. Kids will be more sucked into this timeless vortex of eye candy. And I'll see Dinobay-bot plush toys on the aisles of Wal-Mart which resemble a chrome barney from hell.

Oh, and they'll have wheel feet too! Just so the man who hates filming car chases in a franchise revolving around robots which turn into vehicles (Mostly hum.....lets check....CARS!!!!!) can have more options on what to feature on a hwy for the car chase he wont film.

And they will explode as well....spelling out the word BAYSPLOSION!!!!!

And Megan Fox will again run in slow motion...in front of the Baysplosion fire ball.



*Sigh* I'm fighting with to things here, a part of me who loves the Dinobots and wishes to see them smashing everything. And a part of me who just doesn't want to see them royally frakked. I mean there are dozens of ways to include them into the film. DONZENS! Of good plots....and the marketing ploy alone is enough to rest assure that there will be dino bots. I mean you got Giant Effin' Robots....and Giant Effin' Dinosaurs.....IN ONE MOVIE! How is that not a childs candy coated dream? And I'm sure that was the actual marketing pitch.

So Bay will be pressured into including "A" Dinobot just as Rami was pressured to include Venom in Spiderman 3....and just as Venom was FUBAR'ed so will be whatever Dinobot frankenstein ILM will make on Bays command. I wouls Say Speilberg would be able to talk some sense into Bay, but after seeing the sense he talked into Lucas for Crystal Skull....those hopes are dashed.

*Sigh*, It's situations like this that force a guy like me trying to be good to go back to Piracey verses paying to see this third installment.

However if anyone wants to hit Bay where it hurts, hit him in the DVD sales. Being he owns a % of the profits I believe, low DVD sales means less money for dear Michael...meaning if we hurt his wallet he might actually get his head out of his....

Hopefully or interestingly for the third movie, get to see where Sam and Mikaela's relationship continues. Marriage?

I'm not surprised he hates them. Frankly, I'm glad the Dinobots aren't getting into the movie-verse. First off, their story and presence (especially in the comics) are enough for it's own movie and he still has the existing mess to worry about. Bay announced before the first movie he never cared for the franchise on a whole, and no matter what the action centers of your brain says, it has shown. Between those points and his (yet to be disproven) stumbling grasp of storytelling, I don't want him to try.

The one downside is the movie-verse toyline would never get a crack at them. Ravage's toy is pretty nice and proves robotic animals are doable (so long as you don't think to much over how he doesn't become anything).

There will not be any Dinobots due to the fact of there isn't enough screen time availible after shooting Megan Fox running. I bet there won't be any Transformers at all after the first half hour. We already know that our Military has the best weapons in the galaxy and will blow up all the Transformers. Then the rest of the movie will be about Leo and Sam's crazy shanagins for another 2 hours!
