The vechicle mode is cool though, I might be interested if I could see a pic of the real vechicle from the cold world era. Im tired of seeing tanks made up that never really existed like the old deluxe Bludgon mold and silimar voyager class mold used in the classics line.

Isn't he an homage to G2 Mindset?

I think you left "best" out of that sentence.
Can anyone else see a BM Tankor redeco out of this?

Perhaps, but we're getting a Mindset repaint first.

Or Energon Demolisher?

I'd rather not buy two of this sculpt despite that I do like it, but I'd buy both if they give it a head move Mindset-ish that's less movie-ish.

Prior art:
Hailstorm's design lifts pretty heavily from Energon Demolishor's Hyper mode.

Too squat, too ugly, and just not my style.

That being said, I like how Hasbro is starting to blur the line between Movie-verse figures and Generation figures. If you put Hailstorm next to Darkmount, you really wouldn't know that they're from two different lines. Hell, HFTD Sea Spray looks weird standing with the movie figures, but looks right at home next to Universe 2.0 Powerglide.

Odd, that's precisely why I like him. I love Transformers that don't adhere to the laws of humanesque proportions.

Oddly enough, neither does movieverse Starscream, yet I love his design. It's not exactly the most attractive, it is gorilla shaped, and..well okay it's not squat, but the other two are true.
I guess this one's just not what I was hoping for. But, when I got into the movie figures, I had the mindset to buy figures that were only on screen, not ones that weren't. Which is why I haven't bought most of the Scout Class figures. I think I have one.
This guy ain't gettin' bought either.

Win. Best not-already-glaringly-obvious repaint idea I've seen on these forums in ages. Plus, the compact-looking altmode works real well for an ex-cassette somehow...

No but his upcoming repaint is. It's also named, aptly enough, Mindset.

Of course, this Mindset will be an Autobot (according to Hasbro's sketches), but it's still a nice homage

Nothing a couple repro stickers can't take care of.

If the sketches turn into rality, it's a large Autobot symbol on the side of the tank. May take a large repro

Which sucks, I thought no-one cared about MindSet so I figured someday I'd make one and then Hasbro remembers him.

I dunno, this year we're getting some really great deluxe figures this year. This might be the best years for deluxe figures, but I'm picking him up anyway. I understand his alternate head mold is the G2 Cybertronian Empire Mindset, which makes it a must.
Is anyone else feeling this mold would make a great Rhinox kitbash? From chain guns of doom to missile rack of doom!

back to like energon-esque garbage. easy pass for me.
i'm finally starting to pass on things, been buying everything last 2 years+

Rubbing alcohol takes off unsightly paint apps. Just takes a little patience and some elbow grease. ...and really Mindset? Why do I give a crap about a poor G2 design character who had the same color scheme as 90% of the other throw away characters. I shouldn't care and yet I do. See what making friends at Botcon does? It makes you listen to other people's opinions. No matter how much you might hate yourself for it.Editor wrote:Mkall wrote:Editor wrote:Mkall wrote:Of course, this Mindset will be an Autobot (according to Hasbro's sketches), but it's still a nice homage

I learned about him before anyone cared, and I had this brilliant plan to(once I learn how to custom and whatnot) make a movie version...
Then Hasbro had to remember him too...
Still, I think Wreckage with a new head and vehicle mode weapons would work better.
