Fellow Seibertronian Autobot N has sent us a thread on Imgur that shows off the upcoming Transformers Titans Return Leader class Sky Shadow - the rumoured mold-mate to an upcoming Overlord. The figure has a tank mode, a jet mode, a base mode, and the two combine to form both robot and a something mode, all of which you can see for yourselves below!

He's gonna make a great Overlord.

Can't wait for Top Spin either ;)

As part of the set of images showing the upcoming Leader Skyshadow figure, we also have a visual sighting of the Transformers Titans Return deluxe Autobot Topspin, from the back of the big bad Decepticon Phase Sixer's box. You can check out the Wrecker twin below!

Well, now we know one more that will be in Perceptor's wave. I'm guessing that Twin Twist will follow at some point. I just can't figure out if Topspin is a new mold, a heavy retool, or a mold that just shares engineering with another figure.

That transformation is quite simple though. But he looks good. I am curious to see how much of a retool Overlord will be.

We told ya, it's Sky Shadow, not Black Shadow as first announced. ;)
[/gloat]

*ahem*

So, Topspin eh? I'd wager he's an all-new mold, to be shared with Twintwist as a major retool. We'll see once we get a look at his Titan Master.

I dont know why anyone thought it wouldnt be sky shadow, that was the name on the listing since day one: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... dow/36300/

Anyways about topspin, the first thing I thought of was Twinferno actually. With those weapons on his shoulders going voer his hands to look like the twin cockpits.

But I always hope its a new mold so let's see :)

Actually, you guys think it's reasonable to disqualify confirmed part-sharing molds from the list of potential retools? Namely:

Blurr & Chromedome
Alpha Trion & Broadside
Scourge & Highbrow

That said, I am willing retract all this, once it's confirmed that Topspin's Titan Master resembles Nightstick *hint hint* ;)

Sky Shadow looks freakin epic!

Topspin looks very interesting. I wonder if they'll use that mold for Slugslinger.

I don't like to jump on the whole this-figure-is-a-retool assumption immediately (a trend I absolutely hate), but does Top Spin look a little like Rook to you guys? Something about the chest and also the fact he has wheels on his body near his armpits.

I think you mean Blurr and Brainstorm? Chromedome shares some similar engineering with Dead End from Combiner Wars, though not parts.

Blurr and Chromedome share a few minor parts, like the gun, kneepads, thighs, and most importantly, the Titan Master Stylor. In my book, they've been paired up.

Speaking of sharing parts, I thought of another suspect for Topsin. He's the jet of the two Jumpstarters, the drill tank is Twin Twist (because, you know, drills twist), so I did some quick comparing with Triggerhappy. The feet and hips share similar detailing from what I can tell, what do you guys think?

Sky Shadow looks awesome. Even if Overlord is only a minor retool I'll probably get both. Topspin looks neat but the posing is throwing the proportions off for me. Kinda reminds me of the upcoming RID Soundwave. Since SixShot is on the cross-sell can we assume that he'll be packed in sky Shadow's case?

Assuming there's no other new Leader Classes in Wave 4, Sixshot filling up case space alongside Sky Shadow seems pretty likely to me.

We cant assume that. They put sixshot there because they want to cross sell the latest leader to also be out, which would be the leader of the previous wave.

I'm actually predicting Black Shadow not to be released by TakaraTomy, keeping in line with the "1 release per mold" rule (Blaster and Soundwave are the sole exception), and opting for the more "accurate" Ginrai nemesis Overlord instead.

And the base mode resembling Dai Atlas is more of a happy accident IMHO. Both have a tower made from a jet cockpit, and sides flanked by tank parts.

Sky Shadow is Wave 4. Sixshot is the only Leader Class in Wave 3.

Hence, Overlord will either be Wave 5 or 6.

Highbrow's already retooled from Scourge, so they're both out. In fact, I'm willing to bet that's he's either a new mold, or shares parts with Triggerhappy (feet and upper legs kinda match). At any rate, let's wait until we see the Titan Master up close (so those who make in-hand pics, take pics of the little guy too!).

Part of me wants to doubt Top Spin comes from Triggerhappy if only because Triggerhappy is so obviously a Misfire pretool.

I don't see any parts-sharing, from what I can make out of either, but Topspin looks to share a transformation scheme with Triggerhappy.

There's only a certain number of ways to do things, I know, but the arms in particular seem to work the same way. They are positioned by a separate flap from the midriff, and as a result provide a very high shoulder hinge.

Yeah, ever since he was renamed that in those blindbags a while back I always preferred that name.
While renames aren't ever a big deal something some people need to learn, I do wish they'd do more awesome renames like this and Brake-Neck instead of... Quickslinger and Grappel and Breakaway.

The only Breakaway that exists to me is the Badass Aerialbot from Revenge of The fallen god I wish he would show up in either a Bay movie or a G1 version of him appears in something else like IDW if they can make Powerglide and Barrel Roll into an Aerialbot (Hasbro a combiner war toy of him too please) and make up Alpha Bravo for the team they can make Breakaway into a Aerialbot fanboy or something.

But in all seriousness Doublecross doesn't actually describe him that well while he does have two heads I don't think he has actually backstabbed/double-crossed anyone in fiction not from what I remember.

Twinferno is a more accurate name by far and is more awesome anyways Doublecross should be for a Decepticon or a Punch like character such as Sideways.

Well I kind of get the point of the original name and why it was applied to him; the whole idea of the Monsterbots' characters was that they were even bigger assholes than the Dinobots. So an asshole name like that makes sense for him.

Doesn't erase the fact that Twinferno is a billion times better though :P

I know that the Monsterbots were really rude but I don't think Doublecross is a word people really use to describe a rude/a-hole person just someone who backstabs another so it still doesn't really make sense for him.

But yes Twinferno is the best name in fact I will now headcanon he is despite looking nothing like him Inferno's twin brother hence Twinferno. "Shrugs"

I dunno. Stabbing someone in the back is a pretty rude thing to do.

And I don't think the name has any thing to do with Inferno other than phonically. Twinferno as in, he has two dragon shaped flame throwers as hands! :michaelbay:

I'm in club Twinferno > Doublecross too though.

I guess it is pretty rude but hey what do I know? :???:

The being Twin of Inferno thing is just a play on the Twinferno name since Twin can be describe as a "twin" sibling and the fact that the word Inferno so happens to be a name for our Autobot fire engine Inferno plus it would have a sibling yin-yang thing going on.

Inferno is more "kind" and puts out fires with water.

Twinferno is more of a "monster" and makes fires with...well you know fire. :HEADHURTS:

Already taken that into account: given that Misfire and Topspin have a similar styled nose, they'll be redecos ;)

Not just Blaster and Soundwave, but also Blurr and Brainstorm. Seems they're more willing to release the same mold twice if they're different enough. Since Black (Sky) Shadow and Overlord will have entirely (mostly? partially?) different jet halves it seems like they'd fall in line with the other four.

Anyone have a size comparison on the current and upcoming batch of Leaders? Sky Shadow looked slightly taller than Six Shot at NYCC, but how do they compare to Blaster/Shockwave or PM Prime? Just wondering how much taller they'd need to make Overlord to compare to God Ginrai. Might require them to just make a whole new figure.

Brainstorm is an obvious case for me. The mold was clearly made for Blurr so they're not going to not release it as Blurr... but at the same time, they also want to complete the four Autobot Headmasters in the same general release time. That are the same scale as each other and have the same Headmaster gimmick. It'd just be odd to release the other Headmasters and leave out Brainstorm.

And yet Voyager Brainstorm had also just been released recently in the Legends line, that's two rules that one figure broke. Guess that's the power of Brainstorm.

But the point is, if needed, the rules can be bent.

Right, but the point is that they'd also need a Brainstorm that:-
-is in the same scale as the other Headmasters
-has the same Headmaster interactivity with them
-has the look he had in the Headmasters series

the Voyager Brainstorm just wouldn't work, so Takara obviously decided to break the rules this one time.
