Courtesy of our friends at
Kids Logic we have a couple of updates on their line of their officially licensed super deformed Transformers characters. First we have another image that teases several upcoming releases. The silhouetted image features their previously released
Mecha Nations 01 Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Soundwave, and Starscream. Not pictured is Megatron, but we know he is on their radar,
as they released a teaser last summer at ACGHK 2013. The second image seems to indicate they will be releasing a smaller version of Mecha Nations 01 Optimus Prime, no detail regarding release, distribution, exclusivity, etc.

That Bumblebee looks red. Probably just the LEDs inside him, but he look like Cliffjumper

I like these designs, but just can't budget Prime. I do hope the rest of the line (and Prime) get released at a smaller scale as I hope it would be easier for me to justify. However, all bets are off on Starscream - I will get him regardless of size and (reasonable) pricing. Awaiting pics of the final reveal.

Awesome. I have Optimus and he's a great little figure; very posable, gorgeous paint job, extensively LED-equipped. Definitely want all of these. Megatron is noticeably missing, however…
BTW, their Facebook page also lists a limited edition Black Convoy remold.
EDIT: going by the Facebook post, "TF01" constitutes a single box set of the first five figures (Prime, Bee, Scream, Wave and Grim).

Maybe the lack of Megatron pictures is because of his doing :O

Unbelievably cool! Since I am very much lacking in display space for pretty much anything at the moment these little guys would be perfect. I'd be willing to make a bit of extra room for them and even set up a shelf big enough that I could "book-end" them with my SD Shining Gundam and Master Gundam figures since they'd be right close to the same size. They'd totally outclass the Gundams but the entire shelf would still look cool regardless.

"Deliciously Wicked" is the term that popped into my mind.

Another new line that wont collect more than 10 characters ?
I am still pissed off about the 3" tall collection they started 6 years ago, I read they increased the size...

I wish these guys would go find another brand to mangle and leave transformers alone. Go make some super deformed G.I. Joes, Barbie dolls, or Ninja Turtles.

Almost every year we see a Chibi line for Transformers that die after two waves after ushering out the same characters, Optimus, Bumblebee, Megs, Screamer, Soundwave, etc.
It would be interesting to see one of these lines have some sort of longevity and release characters that aren't ones that we already have 100+ versions of.

So does this mean that I wasted my money with SD Optimus Prime? If they are going to be a set of six? Does the SD Optimus Prime come in 2 sizes? When will they be released? Thanks

They are smaller than that OP.
They also seem to have LEDs in their heads. The larger OP has lights pretty much everywhere: head, feet, gun, and several in the chest. Allegedly that really hikes up the price.

Man, that gorgeous chrome. I mean, with those LEDs and chrome... Imagine if it were a Masterpiece figure! One without the spindly legs of the MP Megatron we got, of course.
But either way, it's always nice to see a poseable mouth on a figure. I think that's one thing that the main toy line has been missing for a while, and it's always cool when they add it in here and there.

We've had so many super-deformed Transformers it's not even funny.
And these blow each and every one of them out of the water.
Seriously, these are amazing. That Megatron is one of the most evil looking Megatrons I've ever seen- the shiny steel finish helps immensely. And that scowl! I think I might have to get some of these and incorporate them into a Nendoroid display (because Megatron is just begging to be squared off against my Nendoroid Ryuuko).

I like these, a LOT! But I'm hesitant to acquire Wave 1 because I just don't feel that this company will churn out characters fast enough to satisfy me.
For now I'm going to be sticking with The Loyal Subjects Transformers vinyl figures because they are actively putting out new waves pretty frequently!
If Kidslogic ends up releasing a few waves more, maybe then I'll go back and pick these guys up...

At 3.5 in, they would look great with my Mighty Mugs SW.
I would get the tapes too.

To me, this a very boring Wave 2. Aside from kickback, and the face plates on the seekers, there are no new sculpts.
I think they could have made a lot more diverse and exciting choices for this wave.

Oh, they're definitely gonna milk those sculpts maliciously.
Predicting next wave having Sunstorm, Acid Rain, Ghost Starscream, Nemesis Prime, and Dead Optimus.
Maybe a Shockwave thrown in there.
