The Movie Reporter has posted some rumors that have recently popped up. At this time, there is no reason to believe that these rumors are true. Or that the person who reported these knew exactly what was going.

Supposedly, this person was an extra on the set of the movie at the White Sands and Hollomans locations and posted these on the LS2 Forums The following has been taken directly from the article. Please keep in mind that The Movie Reporter is not reporting these as fact, but a possible rumors to take with a grain of salt.

Can't wait...i'm in it as an extra.
I am a Navy Seal doing a battle scene against the Decepticons. I filmed out at White Sands and on Hollomans flight line. Filmed for 4 days and had a blast. Tons of pics on my Facebook.

POST #2 - MAJOR SPOILER CONTAINED!!

No.I had to chase a bunch of villagers out of the area because the Decepticons were attacking, then -->> had to protect Optimus Prime's corpse <<--. There were a shitload of us out there.
The food and catering was awesome. A lot of downtime. Just like a deployment.
I did an interview for the DVD. We will see if that is on it too. The asked me a bunch of questions about the military. The autobots are behind me on top of a sand dune. I did a GM plug. They liked that.

Micheal Bay loves the military. I got to speak with him very briefly. He gets so angry on set at the actors but doesn't dare yell or demean the military. It was a trip. He said something to me like do you want a job as a DA (Directors Assistant), I said hell yeah. He was getting pissed at his DA. His DA was like trust me you dont want this job.

I have two closeup shots if they do decide to put them in the movie. One was walking with the camera on the tracks going along with me but at a slower pace. The camera was right on the side of my face following me but at a slower rate. There were two others behind me. The other close up was while I was defending from a corner of a building on one knee. The boom camera went from the ground to over head of us all. I was up front in the scene. The camera came up to my face then began to ascend over the area. It was pretty cool.

Another scene was Optimus getting dropped off by a chinook. I had to run up to the area then stop as Optimus was getting dropped.

Another was with Josh and Tyrese when they argue with The President on the flightline. I am in the background.

As much time as I spent filming (9-10 hours a day for 4 days) I hope I am seen at least once. Hell I'll be happy to be on teh DVD.

POST #3 from another member -

=boM=-, nice spoiler with the corpse bit... not gonna go over well with the people who didn't wanna know. lol

Maybe some one should edit the name of the thread.
Don't know if he stays dead, if it is in the begining or the end of the movie. They were secretive.
They never refered to him as being dead. They always said his body. So there no spoiler.

FIXED

Not to sound heartless but honestly, I will not be surprised if the dead Optimus rumor is true. He's died in every other universe, why not this one?

It would be awesome to see the big OP go down as a hero per usual but Megatron isn't returning I thought.

Well if Prime does die that just means Hot Rod is up next for Bay to frak up. And another one of my favorites bites the dust and if my theory is true, i will never see a bay film again. I foresee after the 3rd installment we'll get a new director.

IMDB used to have a tagline that read "The Decepticons must be stopped... no matter the cost..". Considering the Constructicons, Soundwave, Megatron and the Fallen, not to mention that wicked hit Prime took in the superbowl spot, I wouldn't be supprised if he dies. Again.

not necessarily. Something else to consider: the popularity of the Animated series. Hot Rod/Rodimus may NOT be the next Autobot leader to make an appearance...Ultra Magnus might be. It would make sense- Optimus and he would be brothers and eventually additional armor would be needed to survive the subsequent fighting.

Just an idea...

One, I do not want Prime to die. I did not like it back in '86 (and every other time it has happened) and I don't like it now. I want a badass Optimus Prime that vanquishes his enemies. This movie is not about realism. It is based off of kids toys! The hero must die architype does not need to apply.

With that said, it would not surprise me to watch Optimus die. However, if I was directing the movie I would not kill off my star if I was planning on making a third installment. No sir. What I would do is lead the audience to believe Prime is dead, then after the credits roll I would show the fallen hero's face to see a glint of blue spark in his eyes.

So let me get this straight. Everybody complains that Bay doesn't stay to the original story, then there is a rumor OP dies and you complain again. You know personally I liked the last movie, it had its place to start a story, and I liked the styling of the transformers, Boxes are boring to transform back and forth. My only complaint is that all of the Autobots are GM. And you know what if Meg comes back why wouldn't Prime.

Maybe "die" is just how the extra viewed it. Perhaps he gets knocked into a coma from that attack in the teaser and is restored from whatever enables him and Jetfire to merge together.

I have never complained about Bay's take on transformers. I like the style. For me, it makes the idea of machine based life forms from a mechanized world believable.

What I do not like is Optimus being killed. Personal preference. I like Prime, I have always liked Prime (he was my favorite when I was watching G1 back in grade school), and I always want him to be alive.

Thinking about it now, no, I don't want him killed. Something's lame about killing Megs, bringing him back, then killing Prime, to probably have him return. Let's have him go down hard, get damaged, but survive. Let's have The Fallen die.

This (Primes "Death") could very well mean that the fans could get their shiny, all red, brand spanking new flat nosed semi rolling through a crowd of decpticons then transforming and kicking ass in the 3rd installment. Even a shiny new long nosed semi in his G1 colors but sporting a trailer rolling out of a cloud of dust or smoke with no warning whatsoever would have everyone in the theater on their feet cheering. I would not be surprised at all to see the 2nd movie end on a very dark note but also as a very obvious "to be continued" like was done between the 2nd and 3rd Matrix films.
I mean, seriously, Bay isn't going to flirt with career suicide by killing off Prime and actually leaving him dead! Spielberg wouldn't allow it for starters and the writing team values breathing too much to risk pissing off the fans. If Bay suggested full on death of Prime the writers would bolt like scared rabbits.

Prime is probably in stasis lock.

Plus, the ROTF: Alliance comic shows that the Allspark fragment can reactivate any offline Transformer.

The Hero dies.
It's a rule.
The ultimate lesson can only be learned when the ultimate failure is experienced.

He will be back.
That is also a rule.
The Hero is reborn pure and victorious from the ultimate lesson.

Yeah, seeing as how he was an extra, I doubt he really understood what was going on. He either misunderstood the situation, or Bay probably wanted them to act like they were protecting Optimus' body as if he were dead. I mean, why the hell would you protect a body if it's already dead?

Also, lol good luck ever being an extra in the business again. I'm sure when/if Bay sees this (if it's true), he'll make sure this guy doesn't work again. He left plenty of obvious hints to his identity, especially if the candid conversation he had with Bay and the cameras is true.

When has being dead ever stopped prime coming back and kicking arse?

What I want to know is does he fade to grey when he does kick the bucket?

I highly doubt Prime will be killed off for good. Prime's death in the animated movie was the beginning of the end for the G1 series. He is the Transformers.

Bay will probably have him take a beat down before coming back to save the day. Besides, Prime is always getting his ass kicked before bouncing back in the G1 cartoon.

Yeah I think it's pretty much mandatory that Prime has to die at some point, no matter what continuity he's in...But if it's not from battling Megatron to the end, it's not really worth it...

If Prime does die it wouldn't surprise me. If they can revive Megatron then why not Prime? The one trailer scene where the constructicon flings prime makes me worry. It feels like the Autobots don't stand a chance against (Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Devastator, and The Fallen) without some major backup!

Optimus Prime getting killed is like the sun rising in the morning. He's always sacrificing himself for this, that or the other thing. But never fear, like Jesus he'll always be back.

none of us see the movie yet so who knows if prime will die or not. IF prime dies or gets damaged to where he need to be repaired he'll be back in TF3.

ok.. from one simple and really unfounded rumour from an extra, someone who is more than likely over-inflating a situation through 3rd or 4th hand evidence.

you see rumours are like chinese whispers, the more it gets said and spread around, the more it distorts and becomes something completely and utterly rediculous, half baked, and worthless...

people who are over-reacting to just a rumour.. calm down and move on to sweetners or de-caf, whatever your fired up on, lay off.. it isnt healthy.

look at it from the sideline point of view, and note a lot of the imagery of the battered prime thats been on empire magazine et al and the boot to the face he takes in the SuperBowl trailer. How many times have we all seen prime (regarless of continuity) getting totally trashed, yet some how being able to come out swinging and being the winner?

and for the record, prime didn't get offed in Armada, Energon, RID or Cybertron/Galaxy Force, he only was completely totalled in G1 in the movie, coming back in Dark awakening and then finally at the end of season 3 to fight the Hate Plague.

so as the man said in alien 3 "rumour control... here are the facts......"

wait and see, because remember, information on ROTF is a lot more scarce than it was when the first one came out. so from a neutralists point of view... take it easy, dont worry, take it cool and things will be ok (well until otherwuise stated)

In the TF universe(as in most comics/cartoon universes)it's difficult for a hero to die but it's much more difficult to remain dead.
Most of the popular super-heros(eg Superman)have died at least once and they always get reborn one way or another.
So,I think Prime's death and rebirth is a matter of time in the movie-verse too.

I personally liked that the creators of the old series took a chance and wrote Prime's death into the storyline. It gave everything a little bit more depth. In my opinion, it cheapened Prime's sacrifice when they brought him back to life, much in the same way comic characters are continually revived after a tragic death (i.e. Phoenix in the X-Men). And yes, I saw TF: The Movie in theaters back in '86, and felt the same way back then.

I had hoped they were going to be at least original with Prime and NOT kill him for once.

However, I don't mind him getting the s*** beat out of him near the movie's end. Just don't kill him for once.
Re: More RotF Rumors (878435)

Prime probably doesn't die. Reasons:

1) Jetfire coming to the Autobots and combining with Prime will most likely be a key factor. If anyone dies it would be Jetfire (he's so old, and with the plot, it would be okay.)

2) Bay isn't a COMPLETE effing dumbass.

3) G1 died with Prime. Why would this be any different?

4) If he does "die" he'll come back after some epic battle. Probably. So he won't be dead for very long if any.

The creators of the first series weren't taking a chance when they killed off Prime back in 1986, they were freaking clueless! They said so themselves. Transformers started out as a series of 30 minute "commercials". The '86 movie was a 90 minute introduction of the upcoming product line from their standpoint and it wasn't until weeks after the movies release that they realized "Oh wow, we really screwed the pooch this time!" They truly had no clue just how iconic Prime had become. Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay already know all of this back-story, as well as Orci and his team, which is why I have very serious doubts that Prime will actually "die" in this series. His deaths in other continuities have all been handled differently (as in "open-ended") in every series since the original movie which is why topics like this get labeled first and foremost as rumors. The only fact that any of us has to go on is that some extras were give the charge of "Guarding Primes Body". We don't know the exact context their instructions were given in. Did anybody bother to ask "Umm, Mr. Bay, would that be his unconcious body, his dead body, his concious but I've-fallen-and-can't-get-up body??" We all just took the big bad speculation ball and ran with it for all we were worth. I personally could care less about the truth of it all. I'll find that out on opening day of the movie. Until then, I'm just going to have fun speculating and playing "What If.."

Death really doesn't mean anything in the movies. Prime will be as dead as Megatron was or as dead as Jack Sparrow was in the damned pirate movies.

Alright, here's my layout:

OP is chilling out on Earth. Then Soundwave crashes on Earth and shoots Optimus, driving him into a mechanical coma. Ratchet gets to work while the Autobots are fighting with no leader. Their forces start to weaken, then Optimus
comes back and kicks Decepticon ass.

I'm really confused about Bay's ideas. He creates completly new TF universe, new ideas, new designs but everything is still based on G1. We can see references to G1 in names and relations between robots so I hope that Bay won't find the idea of Prime's death making his movie more G1-ish.

They didn't take a chance, Hasbro had them kill off Prime to make way for new characters, which equated into new toys, which means money. They were gonna do the same with Duke from GI Joe, but when they saw the backlash with prime, they changed it into a coma.

Well, yeah... I know all of this, but I still think that it made for some good storytelling.
