Back in June, we were pleased to report to you that HASBRO/Discovery Communications Joint Venture Television Network had announced their President/CEO as
Margaret Loesche.
We have now learned that Hasbro Studios, which is the studio that will produce Habsro-related content for this new network has announced a new president of its own. Here is an excerpt from Hasbro's official press release.
PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE:HAS - News) announced today that prominent international production and distribution television executive Stephen J. Davis has been named President of the Company’s newly-formed, Los Angeles-based Hasbro Studios. The “virtual” studio will produce shows based on Hasbro’s world class brands, deliver new branded content and produce programs from top third party content creators. Many of these shows will run on the new television network created by the joint venture between Hasbro and Discovery Communications (NASDAQ: DISCA - News, DISCB - News, DISCK - News), that is planned to debut Fall 2010, as well as on multiple channels in international markets.
Davis will begin work in September, leading a team of internal and external creative talent in a wide-range of genres, including animated, live-action and game show programming, as well as content designed for digital and mobile extensions.
New programming is planned based on brands such as ROMPER ROOM, TRIVIAL PURSUIT, SCRABBLE, CRANIUM, MY LITTLE PONY, G.I. JOE, GAME OF LIFE, TONKA and TRANSFORMERS, among many others.

Pawtucket, R.I.- In a press release issued today by Hasbro, Inc. (HAS NYSE), the person who's been appointed lead in the HASBRO/ Discovery Communications Joint Venture Television Network has been announced.
Margaret Loesche, who has been working in children's entertainment for over 30 years, will be assuming the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the companies’ multi-platform, yet to be named, joint venture.
An excerpt from the official release:
The winner of multiple Emmy and other industry awards, Loesch has almost four decades of unparalleled success in children’s and family entertainment. Her extensive resume includes the development and production of some of the most iconic programs in children’s television, such as Smurfs, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies, Animaniacs, Transformers and the award-winning pre-school educational series Bear in the Big Blue House, among many others.
As a chief executive, Loesch’s experience includes the launch and international expansion of Fox Kids Network, the creation of the U.S. Hallmark Channel, leadership of Marvel Comics’ film production arm, Marvel Productions, and, most recently, the co-founding of family media company, The Hatchery. She also serves on the board of trustees of Sesame Workshop, producers of educational children’s programs, including Sesame Street, and is on the advisory board of the Coalition for Quality Children’s Media.
“Margaret is the perfect match for the network that Hasbro and Discovery are developing,” said Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s President and CEO. “Her consistent track record of creating groundbreaking children’s programming and successfully launching new networks is a blueprint for what we want this joint venture to be. We look forward to working with Margaret, and the team she assembles, to build a powerful and immersive new destination for family entertainment that engages both children and parents alike.”
Seibertron.com would like to congratulate Margaret Loesche on her appointment to the new position and look forward to its projected launch in the Summer of 2010.

Derrick Wyatt, designer for the recently completed fan favorite Cartoon Network program 'Transformers Animated', takes design inspiration from the movie to create ROTF Animated Scalpel.
Does this mean that TF Animated is returning for a 4th season? Well, of course not, but Mr. Wyatt is known for really enjoying the creation of his favorite characters, and people, in the TF Animated style whether they would ever be seen in the show or not.
You can see Derrick Wyatt's blog

Deviantart- Two versions of Guido Guidi's art for the cover of The 25th Anniversary Edition of Shout! Factory's Season 2 DVD.
The first is from
TVshowsonDVD.com showing the boxart as it will appear on the DVD, which has been known for a few weeks now.
And then Guido also just recently posted the clean version of this art, and a description of expectations about the characters to include and how they were to be arranged.
"Since this has been public for a few weeks now I thought I'd go ahead and post this.
This is the cover for Season 2 Volume 1 of the Transformers G1 cartoon series being released by Shout Factory this September.
This was another fun project to work on. I was given very specific direction on this one. Everyone involved knew exactly what they wanted from me including the scene, the characters involved and the integration of the cover from Season 1.
I just hope everyone is pleased with what I produced."
Season 2 Volume 1 Will be available to purchase on DVD from Shout! Factory 0n September 15th, 28 episodes, $29.99 MSRP.
