Fan modes are basically transformations created by fans (fanformations?) that can range anywhere from simple modifications of the official transformation to full blown new modes that were never intended. While other fan modes can be crazy mashups that defy faction alliance logic. Below are a few examples to stimulate the grey matter.

Fall of Cybertron Blaster can be configured to resemble a Cybertronian Boombox.
Reveal the Shield Strafe and Hunt for the Decepticons Sunspot can be combined to give Strafe a powered up almost samurai appearance.
