Nexus Prime is based on the TFOne design with Fun Pub colors. While he looks very basic in both modes, it’s due to him supposedly being « compromised » in order to incorporate a combining gimmick. JTPrime17 stated he has a combiner head behind the cockpit that is not seen on the packaging. Enjoy.

Funny how I saw these pics over 24 hours ago, but it didn't register that L.M.'s horns had all been transferred behind his head until reading this post. While I'm still happier about him than any other O-13-er, I'm suddenly more interested than usual in any potential 3P upgrades. Sure the collar is probably to avert a head-clearance issue, but any Gaia Unicron retool should have just as big a headdress, right?
And now that I'm thinking 3P upgrades, this confusingly underwhelming Nexus has oh so many more possibilities! Giving him a whole gestalt team could indeed get hella-expensive, but compared to acquiring a spare Commander's frame? Heck, give us an unofficial frame with ports to attach CW deluxes, and watch every fan build their ideal Nexus until we've got a whole multiverse-worth!
We all knew that if Hasbro scaled back actual toy releases enough then third parties would fill even more voids, but AotP Nexus might just be begging for it like Classics Magnus raised to the nth power!
Or if that doesn't happen...I've still got my Club Nexus Maximus, Jack.

Liege Maximo would be compatible with Combiner Wars? And he looks like a voyager based on the packaging.
As for Nexus, he looks like a remake of Jhiaxus like Megatronus was a "remake" of Siege Megatron.
He look bad-ass!

I get why they did that, but the difference in style of the skeletons just makes the legs look weird. Now, a Superion leg and a Menasor leg would make more sense. Then use a Bruticus arm and a (future possible) Defensor arm or vice versa, assuming Defensor will share the Bruticus skeleton design.
Of course, the beauty of this figure is that we can mix and match any way we like. Combiner Wars lives again!

I'm sure DNA Design or some other 3P smart-ass will come up with a 200$ "upgrade kit" to complete Nexus Prime.

Noticed this this morning but didn't have a chance to post it. It's kinda pointless now but I'll post it anyway.
Anyway, he's really grown on me, but I don't think the combined form is going to be any good. The torso is lacking the bulk that the other combiners have. Getting serious Fall of Cybertron Onslaught vibes.
I'm hoping there's a proper box set coming later that's a little closer to the original Fun Pub design. Maybe retool Powerglide into a combiner compatible leg for Skyfall. This is the second time we've been cheated out of a proper Nexus Prime update.

Can someone please decipher the cybertron gibberish on Nexus Prime's box. Has something to do with the Matrix given it is captioned beneath it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Nexus is such a huge letdown, I am so disappointed. He and Onyx are my favorite Primes, and seeing him so bland is sad. TFone did him real dirty, and they used that weak sauce here.
And calling that a torso mode is pretty sad too. If you look at it, he needs someone else's frame, so you would need to buy a commander just to give him a body, but insert him into the frame and rotate the waist 180, and he looks really cheap sitting in there.
And , JTPrime has said that this is all we are getting of Nexus, no dedicated limbs or frame of his own.
I own the OG Nexus, they had the spirit right there, it just needed updates. And now here we are, and for the 2nd time, we have a pretty weak ass Nexus, where calling him a combiner is stretching it really far.
At least Liege looks AMAZING.

I feel sorry for the box artist that was given a shoebox with stubby wings and a tacked-on cockpit and had to make it "look cool".
And does anyone else find it hilarious that Nexus Prime, the first combiner and one of the Thirteen, transforms into a torso and none of the other twelve can form limbs?!

Does the Nexus alt-mode look like an upsized cassette-bot to anyone else?

Maybe that's another reason I'm just assuming multiple third parties will pick up the dropped ball on this one.
And of course the Liege Maximo needs his miniature-sun-left-arm-cannon; not faulting Hasbro for skipping that.

Yet another botched unofficial attempt at Slamdance that went for a second combination in cassette mode, yes, agreed.Kyleor wrote:Does the Nexus alt-mode look like an upsized cassette-bot to anyone else?

Out of every piece of published artwork depicting the Liege Maximo in his original G2 design, this is probably the one that give the most clear look at his arm cannon:Bumblevivisector wrote:And of course the Liege Maximo needs his miniature-sun-left-arm-cannon; not faulting Hasbro for skipping that.

I'm sure DNA Design is already working on all of these very expensive upgrade kits.
Meanwhile, there will be 3D printed things from China, like that Maximo arm cannon.

The whole wave is now up at all the normal spots, Powerglide sold out on Pulse already but it looks like Walmart has them all for last year's prices still. Saw a post that said they were gonna do a fanstream for these today, but I can't find any official video about these guys anywhere so far.
Preordered CJ, Ratchet, Smokescreen, Swerve, and Nexus with Walmart for the lower prices, wasn't gonna get Swerve and/or Nexus at full price. Still not totally happy about how Nexus combines or how his alt mode looks, but I actually really like his bot mode way more than I thought I would? Liege isn't for me though, that G2 design reads way too demonic/organic for me to reasonably see it as a Transformer. Kinda neat to see that Powerglide has two different one-episode-references with the chest heart and the mask, curious to see how that'll impact his potential future repaints.

His product description actually says he has "a hand that rotates to become a blaster", I think that red chunk in his left arm is the cannon and it's just optional.Sabrblade wrote:Out of every piece of published artwork depicting the Liege Maximo in his original G2 design, this is probably the one that give the most clear look at his arm cannon:Bumblevivisector wrote:And of course the Liege Maximo needs his miniature-sun-left-arm-cannon; not faulting Hasbro for skipping that.
