Yeah, I saw this guy in Stormbringer and could not figure out who he is, I could identify everyone else in that comic except for this guy.

he is meant to have a copter mode but IDW seem to have given him some kind of jet instead (looks like that in the pova flash back in wreckers)

the toy never had a mouth either so its not like its a total reinvention either.

but yeah, coolest thing he's ever done and its a mosaic. pretty much says it all about how the comics going as he did sod all in that first act of ongoing.
