Transformers writer Simon Furman has updated
his blog page yet again. The man gives notice that Devastation #1 is out now and gives us a clue as to what to expect. The following has been taken directly from his
most recent blog.
"
AND NOW… DEVASTATION!
Finally it begins! After what seems like an abyss of time since the end of Escalation (though there were compensations, ongoing story-wise, to be found in Transformers Spotlight: Galvatron and Transformers Spotlight: Optimus Prime), Devastation begins this week (issue #1 hits on the 19th in the US and here on the 20th). Was it worth the wait? You bet! Though Escalation certainly upped the ante (and the pace), in Devastation things go ballistic, and the so-called secret war goes decidedly public. The cause: the arrival on Earth of the Decepticons’ living weapon, Sixshot, not someone who cares about the niceties of covert infiltration, etc. Things get bad this issue and then get much, much worse as the series progresses. And, apart from Sixshot, we get much more on the Machination, we learn the ultimate fate/destiny of Hunter and Sunstreaker and we meet the (IDW) Headmasters! Phew! Plus, a whole lot of other subplots (Skywatch, Reapers, Dead Universe, Dinobots and Soundwave) are pulled along and developed. Expect stuff to wrap up and other stuff to roll on, and expect nothing to be the way you found it by the time issue #6 hits. Check out EJ’s cover for issue #1 below (click on the thumbnail) and go see what other TF goodies IDW have in store for you here".

Michael Bay has updated his blog with more info regarding this fall's release of the
Transformers Movie
in IMAX theatres. The IMAX version will feature at least 2 minutes of new footage (there are conflicting reports about how much new footage will actually be seen), but Bay has now let us know that this bonus footage will ONLY appear on the IMAX print, and will not be on the DVD, to be released on October 16, and that no extended-edition is planned.

IMAX and the DVD
09/18/2007 07:39 AM
I saw the IMAX print and it is awesome! It is the future of cinema to see movies in this format. I'm going to see Tranformers one last time and get ready to gear up for Transformers 2. I added two minutes of stuff for IMAX that will never make into any DVD's. There will never be an extended edition.
About the DVD. I like the two disc set. I has all the extras that the others don't have. It is the definitive edition of Transformers. It really breaks down how we made the movie.
Anyway hope you like the IMAX print!

The President spoke - the same blah blah blah, tweaked smile, like he's pulling to wool over us, blah blah - We are safer at home by fighting in Iraq, yeah right. I feel safe at night spending generations of money we don't have. Bush just wants to prolong the agony until the next President gets in office so it will be someone else's nightmare. At least AIR FORCE ONE will be supplied with the official DVD of Transformers - as requested by the top Air Force General to our offices.
Depressing yes. But I just saw the first IMAX print of Transformers. Not depressing - freakin AWESOME! They need to bottle the magic of IMAX because it's the future of cinema.
It comes out next Friday the 21st. I added some extra scenes.
Transformers 2, well that's another story. Iching to work pre strike (June) so I might jump ship and come back a year or so later cause people at the studio have been dragging for two months. Not sure why. I'll keep you informed.

Don Murphy, one of
the producers of the
Transformers Feature film franchise, has posted some personal remarks on his
DM board. Including about Transformers 2 and the strike that is likely to take place in June of next year.
The following are personal statements from Murphy and are not to be taken as official statements from the production staff of the Transformers movies. These were taken directly from
the post on his board.
"
Hi there… haven’t had a Sunday Posting in forever. Those of you that have been here that long remember that I used to use this space for musings and thoughts, until it came to be expected of me and thus pressure. Well I have some thoughts today and they might not make sense but I am not sure they ever did.
--- For those of you most anxious about TRANSFORMERS 2, the silence you hear is primarily because people are fretting about a presumed strike in June 2008. Will it happen? I don’t know- does the public care about strikes anymore in this day and age? What do rich people have to strike about anyway? I don’t have any side here ( you hear about the writers and the Producers but that actually means the STUDIOS) I just think stopping work is kind of pointless. But since no one wants to be filming IF a strike happens, everything needs to be done filming by the end of May 2008. So this is affecting the lack of news about Transformers 2 at least for now. Stay tuned".

You probably remember a thread in the toy forum not long ago, theorizing Grimlock as the next Masterpiece original mold.
While we are unsure about the status of that report, we do have something interesting to share related to it.
Apparently a Custom Masterpiece Slag has been created by a fan named Menchoy.
I won't keep you in suspense any longer. Check out this fantastic custom
here. It really is a very creative and cool piece. And it's huge!!!
Check it out and than discuss the utter coolness...

The Knightshift has received a Thankyou email from Steve Jablonsky, the composer of the Transformers Movie Score, for all the support for getting the Movie Score released:
Hey Chris,
My assistant forwarded your email to me a while back. I checked out your petition, and I wanted to personally thank you and everyone that signed. Support from fans like you really means a lot to me, and it makes me very happy that so many people enjoyed the Transformers score. Sorry it has taken so long to get it released. A score release was always in the works, it just took a while to pull everything together. But I'm glad it's finally coming out.
So thank you again, and a big thanks to the thousands who signed. Feel free to post this on your site or blog or wherever you like, so I can pass along thanks to everyone.
Steve
So thankyou to all the Seibertron.com members who signed the Petition to help streamline the Score Soundtrack's release!
