I don't particularly hate him, but I'd jump at the chance for someone to make a robot head for him.

Not that I mind the human face, but it just seem to me as if Metalhawk needs to hit up the stairmaster. Wishing he was a lil more...IDK, chiseled looking in the face.

ok let me see if i got this straight -
Hasbro forces kotoys to closed down - a ko company that actually give fans what they want (sunstorm/rainmakers/clear convoy/dia convoy ect ect) but yet hasbro give us bullshit like this?

a god awful craptastic gigatron that looks as if a child has put another toys head on a different toys body - a god awful ultra magnus that looks as if it was made up while someone was having a fit - and now 'who ate all the pies' metalhawk....ffs dont they stop half way when making these guys and say 'errr maybe we should start again or do somert better'

christ i always felt energon prime looked like a fat bastard but now metalhawk too? i guess we can now put metalhawk/E-Prime together and start making a FAT BOTS CLUB

i mean just look at metalhawk! he looks so fat that if he tried to transform theres no way in hell that fat gits gona take off the ground

Wow, FunPub did it again, another head that had potential and they managed to let it look horrible.

The rest of the figure looks great though.

Just...*sigh*. Well, at least I can say that's money I've saved this year. No, wait, I can't...just blew it all on G1 Star Saber D=. At least that figure looks good though, unlike this hot, juicy, steamy pile of poop that is this year's BotCon set.

To hearken back to a note from a previous post...I'd almost rather see Hasbro, Takaratomo, or whomever is responsible for BotCon exclusives contract out the KO companies that did all the very high quality "reissues" that were sold on KO Toys website! I'll admit that I did buy a couple, and they display damn well! Granted, if I ever part with them, I'll go out of my way to make sure it's known that they aren't real or original...but I digress....

If we could see some of those fine molds just reused officially, even as exclusives, I'd eat that up like candy!

In robot mode this figure wouldn't look out of place in the Masters of The Universe series.

As far as the entire boxset goes, whomever at TFCC thought this would be a "must have" must be new to the world of Transformers.

Because it's supposed to be a Classics Metalhawk, and all Classics Pretenders homage the Shell, due to that being the most iconic thing about the Pretenders.

Because that's what they've been doing for EVERY updated Pretender figure. Generations Skullgrin, ROTF Bludgeon, SG Octopunch, Generations Thunderwing, Generations Sky Shadow (Black Shadow), ALL of them look like their G1 Pretender shells. None of them look like their inner robot modes.

Metalhawk isn't doing it for me.

Somewhere something got lost. You can't fault the idea, the Decepticon ex-pretenders all follow the same concept: splicing robot's vehicle mode and more iconic pretender forms. I think the Con's inhuman designs made it much more forgiving.

Far as I know, Metalhawk is the first autobot pretender they've given the classic-verse treatment and the human face really throws me. It's like I'm looking at a toy from a different franchise. (Of course that could be seen as being a successful pretender)

Well, if they ever make an update to Stranglehold, we'll not only get a human'looking Decepticon but a rather scantly-clad human Decepticon.

I was waiting until all the figures were revealed until I made a judgement on this set.

I will not be getting this set. Weird, weird, weird. The figures are just so weird looking. Metalhawk, to me, is the weirdest looking one, by far. The human face on a robot just looks too weird. I thought it was weird in G1. If it's possible, I think it looks even worse now.

Yowsers. While I get why they chose to use the Pretender shell face, you would think they would make an exception for those with human faces, because it just looks strange. The rest of it looks pretty great though. I'm sure some 3rd Party will come up with a replacement head for it eventually.

For what these cost, they could have given some bonuses like a removable helmet(to cover up much of the face), remolded weapons and a sword. I don't mind the Big Boy face, but considering what they gave us as Black Shadow I think Botcon could have done even better.

Really, cause his G1 version looks pretty beefy(as do all the G1 Autobot Pretenders)

He actually looks like he's spent half a season on Biggest Loser.
They even posed him as if he were running in place.
The legs are toned down, the arms don't seem as chunky, but, damn does the G1 version have a stellar head of hair!

I personally think this figure is the best of the set, and AWESOME!!! I'm not sure why people are so shocked to see a human figure on a robot body! This IS how he was represented in the Cartoon and on the G1 figure!!! If you're just not a fan of the cartoon or the Pretender toys, then I can understand; but to say it's not a good representation as far as likeness goes, is crazy, they nailed it!!! Only thing I see a change needed would be the feet, but I can deal! The human face concept for the "classics" line, I think is a great idea, and truely does make this an exclusive, as it's the first of its kind, and hopefully not that last! :BOT: :BOT: :BOT:

The concept of Pretenders in general is pretty strange, but lets not hate on the figure due to the strange concept, in which FunPub didn't start! :CON: :CON: :CON:

I'm with the "like" group. I think it turned out a lot better than I was expecting, at least, and I like the way he looks. I mean, it's not as bad as Gigatron, for me. ;) That head just totally doesn't fit that body - feet especially. But here, I can see it. I like most of the other figures too. :) Not overawed, but definitely like. :)

How does the vast majority fail to see the upgrade potential in this mold? Fine let me hype this mofo properly...

-Shoulder cannons can be swapped
-Bicep swivel detaches easily for upgrade and would not interfere with transformation
-Drone can be upgraded with a transformable bot mode.
-Missile launchers can be upgraded with interactivity to "drone" (to beef it up while not stowed).
-Bot mode has a torso cavity for the transformable "drone" - allowing storage in both modes
-Room for a booster pack

I believe it's time for the equivalent of a trailer add-on for a jet transformer. This mold is ripe for it. I would go on, but I'll leave the rest up to the imagination of the 3rd parties. Believe me, you ought to be excited for this. Mark my words - Metalhawk will be the SG Rodimus of this year's Botcon set.
