On the ark (cyberverse) can the pillars in the station detach or anything?

If I were you I'd check some of the youtube reviews and see if they show that. I seem to recall watching one where the guy specifically pointed out the pillars but I don't think they were removable. Just go to youtube and search DOTM ark review or something like that.

The ark is really, really basic. It essentially folds and unfolds, makes a few noises, and that's about it. Could you pull the pillars out? Yeah, it looks like you could...with some wiggling and care. Are they meant to come out? Not really. They're held in place with little nubs of plastic sticking out from both sides into little holes in the base. They don't look particularly strong, so if you pull too hard you risk breaking them. And if they come out unexpectedly, your hand could break something else on the Ark when there is suddenly no resistance keeping it from flying backward. By the way, the Ark is showing up at Target stores in Maryland for $24.99--a few dollars less than Walmart and Toys R Us--so if you want it, I'd start at Target.
