I was just sitting with my mouth wide open during the last episodes of season one.
Are we losing activity?

That was one of the things that really made BM for me. Finding out that Tankor was actually Rhinox was one thing, but when he revealed that he'd become a Vehicon of his own volition... well, that really knocked me for a loop.
The other thing that made BM so great for me was the 'against all odds' aspect. In most of the series, you've either got even sides, or the good guys outnumber the bad, and the bad guys pretty much always lose (Megatron got his tail kicked pretty much on a per-episode basis). That makes the villains seem that much more like losers, and when the good guys win, it... doesn't really mean anything.
In BM, it was pretty much the Maximals vs Cybertron; half a dozen rebels taking on an enormous army. The payoff is that much greater when there's an obstacle worth overcoming.

After all I am Rodimus Prime. I'm supposed to be trigger happy.[/quote]
I guess I'm more like Hot Rod and what Rodimus should be.
Beast Machines is what sparked my new interest in Transformers as an adult. It's like Kung Fu/Zen meets Transformers. And the animation is sweet. I would love to see G1 redone that way.

Beast Machines for me kind of marked the end of transformers as part of my childhood. The show started off weird and then ended on a sour note. Once I got past the whole relearning to transform and the animation style I pretty much enjoyed the show. Primal losing it was a bit tough to watch sometimes, but seemed like a pretty accurate extension of his character developement.
Anyways, looks like things are starting to shape up here. As long as transtopia doesn't end up completely technorganic, we should be in good shape.

to roughly quote ben lees 'this is a twisted version of rhinox's desire in bw to just stand back and smell the roses'. and while obsidian and strikas motives for following megatron consisted of 'if megatron is wired up to cybertron, then he is cybertron, and we are programmed to protect cybertron' line wasdifferent, it still followed the basic, willing vehicon idea. now how did we get from losing activity to willing vehicons again?
