iGear updated their website with something a bit less exciting than their Sharkticons.

The IG-TF007 set, due in October and still a work in progress, represents the first generation Autobots headquarters, the ark/teletran I.

Here we have the color test for the upcoming set. This is not a final product sample yet.

not bad, but the color doesn't look right. Needs to be more of a orangish gold.

exactly what i was thinking.. there needs to be more of a yellowish tint to is, and it needs to be allot brighter.. like it is shinny.. maybe they can do an overlay representing a sheen to it like some figures and models are done..

what is "cowbell"??

also just because they show me this color test doesn't mean I am confident they are gonna release it..

I hope they do release it and on time, but damn! don't tease... :sad:

BBTS has the pre-order, so chances are good this thing is coming. It looks great (better than nothing, that's for sure).

The color does need a bit more yellow or gold in it. It looks too flat. It might look good if they used this color plastic and had a wash of orange-gold paint over it.

You know, when it comes to something like this, no matter what color/shade of orange/yellow/gold is used, there will always be someone among us who would find that color to be a bit off, making it impossible to please everybody with what would be the perfect color, as such a thing just doesn't seem to exist.

Some will say that the color/shade too bright, and some will say it's too dark. Some will say that it needs to be more yellowish, and some will say it needs to be more orangish. Some will say that it needs to be more shiny, and some will say it needs to be more dull. And some will say whatever else it needs improving on.

Realistically, there is simply no way possible to get the perfect color for something like this that will please everybody.

Who cares what shade of orange it is, a lot of people were whining about it being gray when it first showed up. Just like Hasbro shows gray protos, I think most of us knew it'd be in color when the final thing came out.

I commend these guys immensely. The only thing I wish is that it was to MP scale, so I could fit Prime, but I know that's a ridiculous request.

They made it to a moderate scale that fits most TFs and is a manageable size. Nobody has come close to making anything this perfect, not even Hasbro. This is a playset I've been wanting for a quarter century, and finally someone had the gumption to do it. I think it's a fantastic job, and excellent details.

I wonder if they're going to provide stickers for the screens that fans can mix and match? That's something the fine folks at Reprolabels should get in on if they don't.

As for the set itself, I'll believe it when I start seeing people having theirs shipped to them and not lying in preorder for Primus knows how long.

agreed.. and as for those who are defending the color we see right now.. it is called a "TEST" shot..so they may make it brighter and more yellowish gold color in the final.. who knows.. but to stake your position of support behind this color, already...well good luck..

just wanted to remind you it is a "Test" shot.. and not the final colors..

anyhow..

MKALL is right..it can be on preorder.. but will it end up staying there forever..that is the question??

skywarp-2: Your logic is flawed. If you were a true fan, you'd immediately pass judgment on this for either yay or nay. As a fan, you must base your entire judgment based off of small photos and blurry production pics.

I'm totally joking about that. It's just a lot of people do that.

I think it's cool, but I don't think I'll be buying it unless I get a more disposable funds.
