Hot rod as he was in the beginning of Transformers: The movie
vs.
Optimus Prime as he was during "Transform and Roll Out"

This animated Prime is tactically smarter, but the fight would be close. Hotrod has better firepower to this Prime being more melee driven.

It's kinda like eps 3 Obi verse movie Luke, the chosen one is supposed to win but their abilities just aren't there yet.

Optimus Prime in Animated is no where close to be "chosen". For what is hinted at in the first episode it sounds as if Prime washed out of the Autobot Academy. Not seeing much "chosen" there.

As for this battle. Well I think it would be close but I still give the edge to Optimus.

That's what I'm thinking. and while I'ld like to go with your final statement, i'm hard pressed to give the win to a non chosen who is bringing an axe and grapple hook to a gun fight :roll:

Movie Hotrod also was training with a shield and energon saber ala luke, If he has access to these in the fight it may actual go in Prime's favor...

I'm not a big hotrod fan, but I don't see his movie version loosing to intro version of animated Optimus... unless he's dumb enough to engage in physical combat :-P

which movie hotrod is so now i feel better :grin:

I still think he is a chosen one. As it was said in the first episode, they didn't find the Allspark, the Allspark found them. And as this allspark looks and feels much more like our good old Matrix than the movie's rubic cube. We all know Prime will eventually lead the Autobots.

Animated Optimus is a more skilled fighter. He proved this by basically going servo-to-servo with Animated Starscream, who is larger and had the advantage of flight.

Hot Rod on the other hand, has ranged weaponry. This advantage gives his alot more time to shoot down Prime than other incarnations of the character. But, Animated Prime probably wouldn't care about the lasers and power on and use his almighty lumberjack of justice powers to cut downthe rookie.

i think this fight would probably go kind of like galvatron vs hotrod in the original movie, only alot more evenly matched. hot rod would probably go for long ranged attacks and try hit and run tactics. animated optimus could probably keep up better than galvatron with a vehicle mode and more agility, but when they engaged in close combat he wouldnt have the massive strength and durability advantage. hed still be tougher and stronger, but hot rod wouldnt be completely outclassed. in the end prime would probably win, but hed take some damage, and probably make a few clumsy mistakes along the way due to his lack of experience.
