I built a new barrel for the shoulder cannon, because I thought the old one made it look too much like a TV camera. I meant to put the pegs that hold the arm covers in place on the covers themselves. But for some reason, I wound up putting them on the thigh covers, and putting the holes in the arm covers. Considering how thin the arm covers have been cut down right there, it's probably better this way. I'm also trying a new technique to preserve the paint on the pegs. I smeared a thin layer of super glue over them. They're holding up well, so far.

Is that a scratch built launcher that really fires?

I tell ya it is amazing. Nice work there, doesn't remind me anything of prime at all. I love what you did with the head, and gotta love all those massive weapons.

Keep up the great work.

I really thought he looked like prime all along until these last pics. I want one now. Looks amazing. Let me know how that superglue thing works, sounds like it might be what we've been looking for. Anyone else tried superglue for hinges and posts?

I am also curious about the super glue trick! I would have thought it would fog up to much when it turns powdery like battery acid does.

I would've thought so too - in my experience, superglue usually winds up drying with white patches. But hell, if it works, fair play.
And Dino, as far as I can tell, the shoulder cannon isn't actually a launcher; I certainly can't see any signs of a missile.

Gorgeous work there; it's incredible how a combination of subtle mods and some new weapons can completely change the look of a fig! :D

Thanks guys. The shoulder cannon doesn't go anywhere in vehicle mode. I don't generally worry about integrating weapons into alt modes. He only got the smokestack rifle, after Ramrider put the idea in my head to make the smokestacks into a weapon.

There is no working launcher. What looks like a spring release on the rifle, is the slider up against the double hinge. That slide peg plugs into the hole in the other section of the gun, to lock the smokestack mode together.

With the superglue I'm putting a dab of it on the tip of toothpick, then smearing about as thin of a layer as I can over the pegs. I'm using a thick gap filling CA. Don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I haven't had any fogging problems with it. I'm getting it thin enough that it dries really quick. Don't know yet how it well last in the long term, but it's a lot more durable than paint alone.

Now that is one fantastic piece of work, if this ever goes on sale I wouldn't doubt that a fierce bidding-fest would follow.
The smoke-stack weapon array is already worth noting, but that sword isn't any less impressive :o .

Thanks. Everytime I set this guy next to Prime or Magnus, I'm surprised by just how different his alt mode looks. It's all from those fenders. I still remember thinking I had everything planned out, getting the stock fenders cut down where I need them, and thinking "okay, now what?" The best laid plans, of mice of men....

They're built from sheet styrene, over the remains of the originals.

That looks more like a real truck with the arms horizontal, its a wonder the toy didn't do it this way to start with. They look like fuel tanks. Good job.
