Beak was a Targetmaster because in his third mode he is held by other Transformers and used as a weapon. Other Neo characters in the book were free-standing in their third modes.

Personally, I liked that Corhada got a two-page spread, as he's one of my favorite BW figures.

I enjoyed the bios on all the ones I read thus far, which is pretty much all of them. I am a bit dissapointed on the art for the book tho. Some of the pics look great then some look very... well they don't look that great.

I just hope the Optimus Primal and Megatron get a better treatment with art and bios then some of these tho.

If anything IDW have done that deserve a "meh" it's this isn't it?

It's Hearts of Steel #4 that gets that award. Although "meh" is really putting it lightly.

The first major glaring thing I noticed was what is between DJ's legs? Transformers is supposed to be a children's porperty first and foremost and that... Yikes.

It worked for me. I also think the TV show characters deserve two pages. As far as not having a lot of info, you can only fit so much onto one page. I look at these as being fancy tech specs. I was surprised by some 2nd tier characters getting two pages.

PS - BW megs should have his own book!

I like some things about the book but others make no sense. Archadis and other little known characters get 2 pages but Dinotbot gets one!!! Plus inconsistencies like Blackarachnia's coloring is annoying! Her head isn't even the right shape! Its like the artist saw the toy once then just drew it however he felt. And why is Cheetor's TM2 form not shown? And his non TM Beast mode looks very Lion King-ish. What's with that? Cybershark! They have is big ugly TM2 mode for the robot then the non TM beast mode! Why?

There are a lot of things I like though. I just love BW and I love the idea of this book. I like most of the art and I love the cover work. I appreciate the apology from Ryall. But most of the mistakes in this book don't surprise me just because IDW seems to be like this. The TF titles just don't scream Transformers to me. They are slow and too human heavy. I like the old Marvel ones. A million TFs in every issue and rarely seen humans!

I'm willing to bet that it was DB was sent every angry e-mail to IDW. I can picture it now "You can't spell IDW with out DW! :-x " :P

But seriously, it won't make a difference to be because I was never big into the beast wars line. Mind you the comics are good so far.

Aside from the much discussed errors I was a little disappointed that they appear to be omitting Beast Machines from the continuity of the Beast Wars comics, not surprising considering the way it all ends but I'm sure they could have work it in there somehow.

Blast, I hadn't realised that. Maybe they'll produce a BM sourcebook if they get round to printing a BM series. That's still a shame, though, I really like BM.

I love it, in fact I'd probably rate it above BW in a few ways. However it did end in 'canoncide', so I'm guessing Furman and co dont want to paint themselfve into a corner by adhiring to it too closely. However I would have like to have seen it mentioned in the profiles of say...Black Arachnia and Cheetor although that would have probably meant another unpictured incarnation for those characters.

Good point about the lack of BM references in the Profile books AK.

I'm guessing that Furman and Yee don't want to muddy up the Beast Wars water by mentioning what happens to character post Beast Wars.

Hopefully we will get some BM comics later on from IDW, theres a lot of material they have to work with, especially with non show characters.

Archadis quote is what really got me! "do it with style or don't bother doing it at all." :-?

Gee, did Jazz turn into a bird and a pred?

This is the stupidest mistake I have ever seen.

I noticed ALOT of the quotes were done wrong.

I didn't think there was a need to put in characters like Anagony, or any of those convention characters crap! Just dumb. DW had a great profile book, IDW should have spent more research in doing there profiles and accually done somehome work.

Well they included characters like Antagony, and the other convention exclusives because they are going to be used in the IDW BW universe.

I agree I thought the entries could have more detail, but to say that Benson Yee, and Simon Furman did not do their homework...it's a bit harsh. If they don't know it, I don't know who would. :-?

Hummm.. so what he actually says is they don't plan to negate the BM continuity but at the same time they may never acknowledge it. I guess I can live with that.

I realized they missed the character of Cataclysm from the first book. Admitedally his toy was canceled, but he was a character in the Beast Wars fiction and his name started with a letter from A-D.

Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. And did you happen to notice that the artwork for TM Cheetor was the same as Cataclysm?
