This is what I would like to know. I was wondering if there is really anything worth staying for on Sunday other than the good deals in the dealer room?

Sunday is pretty much just good for making one more lap through the dealer room and socializing/bidding farewell to the friends you made, promising to come back next year, and so forth. Last year, I stuck around til about noon on Sunday, then hit the road for home.

I am going to Botcon and to defray the costs of the con, I am splitting a room with other people, so if there are any other Females that are going who want to split room fees, send me a pm. We have two in the room so far, we can take two more.

The brocure is out for the con and it looks like it is going to be a blast!

I would love to go, I REALLY would...but my family issues sucked my bank account dry!! I have, however, started a BotCon 2009 Fund already! Next year, my big fat white behind will be there!!! :grin:

Well, tis tax time again, and my refund is looking like it will be decently-sized this year, assuming I don't run into any unexpected expenses, this might be my ticket to BotCon. Plus that extra tax rebate the government is gonna issue this summer (assuming it passes in the Senate). This might work out after all.

I don't know how many it might apply to but maybe Uncle Sam can help us all. President Bush and Congress are working on a rebate package that might find many of us getting a single $600 rebate or $1200 for a couple.

I know if that comes through it'll help defray the cost of BotCon, plus my 2007 year end bonus hits in February so if both of those come I'm set!

To add on to the answer about the Sunday question, there are some pretty good deals to look out for. Last year, a guy was selling TF bust statues and he sliced his prices on Sunday to avoid carrying that many more home.

So keep an eye out for the sellers that have a lot of stuff early Sunday, as they become more reasonable to depart with their items before the day is over.

Also, Brian Savage draws 2 names at 2:00 PM in a raffle for 2 free Botcon '08 trips. In the past two years, there have been some names drawn that weren't there, so they lose out and Brian draws again.

I'd hate to be one of those people that couldn't go this year, but had their name drawn last year, and to miss the drawing cuz they left before it.

Plus, as CP said, the Hasbro display is Sunday morning.

All in all, Sunday is worth staying for in my opinion.

I toyed with the idea of going, if only to take advantage of the visit to the USAF Museum. However, considering the price of a plane ticket and hotel stay, plus the fact that would have to leave on Wednesday, a school day, in order to take full advantage of that trip, I think I'm better off taking my originally planned trip to Charlottesville in April.

Does Cincinnati not have an airport, or not one close by? I have a friend who said he'd have to fly into Louisville(or was it Lexington) and drive in. I'd think Cincy had an airport.

They do, but it might not service the airline your friend chose to use.

I am getting a new camera, I should be able to take some pix. The video camera I had was not digital and more than 10 years old.

EDITNESS: I got the chance to get to BotCon!! I will be doing general admission, but at least I can be there! My family saw how disappointed I was that I couldn't go, and put forth the funds to gimme a hand...Just not enough to get any of the packages and all that stuff! See y'all there!
