Cancelling a preorder with TFSource

I emailed them about canceling a preorder right now because I had to cut back on TF buying until Christmas. Their preorder rules are a bit on the harsh side, but I only want to cancel one item until things get back to normal.
has anyone had any luck with doing that?
I will be able to pay for the rest of my orders but I have to handle the bills until the cutbacks at work have subsided.

From what I've heard from other collectors when dealing with TFSource is this:
Good Luck
I wish I was being harsh on that.

From what I understand there are no clear cut guidelines for canceling a preorder with them. They handle it on a case by case basis. You just email them plead your case and hope for the best. This one of the main reasons BBTS gets the majority of my online business.

I find TF-Source easier to deal with on my side of the pond than BBTS, but I always pay for pre-orders up-front, no nasty suprises down the line that way.

If they refuse to cancel your order or still charge you for it just tell them you're canceling payment with your credit card company. If nothing has exchanged hands they have no right to refuse a cancelation.

THIS.
They might be pissed off, maybe even complain, but since it's just one item, they'll deal. It's not like you're skipping out on the entire order.

THIS.
I remember when TFSource first started. Small selection, nothing you couldn't get elsewhere, difficult to make contact with (at that point, it was just one guy doing it all), and it took a while to get your order when it was all said and done.
However, to be fair...
They outclassed BBTS when it came to making sure you got an absolutely insane level of pristine packaging, and they packed it so well, that it made news around the fandom.
Their prices were not only comparable, but they were sometimes cheaper.
Once your item was sent out, there were no doubts, no ifs, ands or buts about getting it. They delivered on their promise to get you what you paid for. (At the moment, I can't recall, but I don't think I've heard one complaint about people getting their stuff.)
But...TFSource just isn't my cup of tea.
BBTS packs well.
BBTS has competitive pricing on some items.
BBTS has THE best customer service department around.
BBTS guarantees the items and their service.
Curt (TFSource) is a nice guy, I hear, but his pre-order methods are a pain in the neck, and I hear he won't budge on a lot of things. BBTS will make sure you're happy. You'll pay more, but you don't have to worry, because they will make it right.

I've never had a problem when using TFsource, however I've never had the need to cancel a pre-order item either, as I generally pay everything upfront when I order.
Communication is great. Curt in my opinion is a genuinely nice guy, and I find him very easy to deal with. If you explain your situation and you're honest I'm sure he'll be reasonable.

They'll probably do it once if you need to, but I think if you make a habit of it they may cancel your account outright.

Re: Cancelling a preorder with TFSource
Awhile back I tried cancelling a preorder I placed with TFSource, Curt end up telling me he does not want my business so I took my "business" over to BBTS and have been happy ever since. Here's a tip, if BBTS' price is higher than TFSource, email BBTS' customer service they're more than willing to match it.

Wow, he doesn't want your business over one canceled preorder? That's a little extreme. Even if BBTS wouldn't price match you end up coming out ahead if you use the POL feature to save on shipping.

Yep, I figured as much. BBTS has my business already over the whole Superion Snowman Kit Fiasco. Yes, Fiasco deserves a capital F.

Nice. I'm glad I know this now.

They got an exclusive Fansproject repaint, and when they were down to the last couple of units, they doubled the price. Total price gouging.

Actually, I think they tripled it at one point. I remember an auction or a b.i.n. of their's at $150.00
When it hit $!20.00 on their site and kept climbing, I washed my hands of it.
BBTS still has the original listed as a sold out preorder, but I've yet to see them ever get this shipment in stock.
If they ever do, I'm buying it immediately.

I hope you do get on that pre-order. Ebay prices are nuts.

Heh. That's one of the more conservative prices I've seen. Sad to say.

Well before I start I would like to let the "member" know who PM'd me about my pre-orders, and/or what I was canceling to never do that again. It's none of your business
Now to those that were helping me
:
I was able to explain my situation. I had three orders up, but I needed to cancel one because this month I had to take over all the bills. I told them I would pay for all my other orders and they were fine with that. I am in good standing with them and I have always not worried about them charging me because I had the money. I just wanted to make sure I made it through this odd month of mess. So I appreciate their willingness to let me cancel that one. I would like to get future toys down the line with them as always.
TFSource has the best packing in the world. When I got my 2010 Unicron I did not want to remove it from the plastic they sealed it in. Amazing.
For myself, I love both of TFSource and BBTS. I just stared with TFSource last year just for the Snowman Kit. I think I have been with them for about a year and a half. Things happen folks, but the family well-being is top priority. I was aware of my options but I did not want to go through that because you never know when you may want to order with a company who you can no longer do business with. So God worked it out!!!
And thanks guys for all your input, but all in all they they (TFSource) was real nice

Jesus. I'm glad I snapped up one of the last ones for sale locally while I had the chance. Screw the Snowman version, at least I got some version...

Glad to hear that Curt was willing to work with you. Makes me feel a little bit better about TFSource now.
Then keep it in PMs. Don't post things like this because it could lead to trouble. If you want it to remain personal, keep it that way. Your publicizing this little tid bit makes you no better than the person asking you about what you ordered.
It's none of their business, it's none of our's. How's about YOU never do that again? Mmmkay?
Lashing out in a personal way, stemming from a private message, should remain private. Why whine about your privacy if you kick open the door?
Geez.

Though understandable your post, not necessary. Maybe I did kinda want it to be known. More or less. But I never PM'd them to begin with. I posed a question just to see maybe if anyone had particular situation. I got a message about what I preorderd and yes I did respond, and with the same evisceration as my post. I am entitled to that.
I don't need you telling me how and what to post.

I'm not psychic. How was I supposed to know it was handled? I didn't even know it was something that could be handled by mods or admins (that people asking someone what they preordered was a punishable offense).
Besides, many other people have commented just as I have and no one said what you said, so why aren't I allowed to make comments like this when others do?
Oh and another thing...if it was already handled by mods, then isn't this portion of his post something that he shouldn't have posted?
Fair question, is it not?

No, your questioning of me is unwarrented and unwelcome.
Your knowledge of the situation is incomplete and incorrect.
You do not have the authority to tell other posters how to behave on these boards, but you act like it all too frequently.
Also, I'm tired of you making personally demeaning comments to other posters when you disagree with them or their statements:
Autobot032 wrote:It's none of their business, it's none of our's. How's about YOU never do that again? Mmmkay?
You are not a Moderator, you have no authority to tell anyone on the boards what to do. You are rude without real provocation. Do you ever read your own posts back to yourself to hear what they sound like? It's not like it comes off as kidding or joking with anyone that reads this kind of stuff...
