I think you're probably right, although it wouldn't be much of a Classic...

On the face of it, he's probably a little more War Within-ish than G1, but I can easily see how with a little extra work he could be made more Earthly (and possibly more like the cartoon/Dreamwave interpretations than Tow-Line).

Considering the looks of Cybertron Overhaul, I think he was refering to Energon Ironhide.

Well, I did my versinos of Ironhide and Ratchet long before BotCon, so, you can't call them "duplicates". Inferno is "OK", but not nearly as G1 accurate as Towline, whioch was why I chose to use that figure. It's also the likely reason why BotCon chose it too, and believe you-me, it is not easy to convert the figure into Ratchet and Ironhide, because you still need to resculpt the heads and (on Ratchet at least) remove the ladders from the side of the van.

Unless you're BotCon. They left the ladders on their Ratchet, didn't they? But yeah, fair point... Tramp did his versions before the BotCon ones were released (possibly before they were announced, I can't remember).

But either way, as we both said in our ways, Tow-Line is the obvious choice for both, if you're going for a G1 toy-accurate (more or less) version. But while I thought he worked fine for Ratchet, I thought he looked a bit weedy for Ironhide, and when I got hold of Inferno, I quickly saw the opportunity for a different take.

Whatever, I always think it's best to have a range of ideas to choose from, so you can pick what inspires you.

Yeah, I definately did mine well before the BotCon ones were anounced. I did them right when Energon Towline first came out. I had been waiting for that figure to come out just so that I could make them.

Well of course, if you made it before BotCon, it is very impressive.
Inferno to Ironhide is very cool in Robot Mode, but true, his alt mode is very off from the show.

I had also done Alpha Trion using Vector Prime, long before BotCon, thougyh I did update it after it with a new head, and repainting the wings, sword and compainion after seeing the BotCon version. Here's my original version: http://www.tfmaster.com/gallery_rp0056.php and here is the upgrade: http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12507&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30&sid=
