I've been off the Classics train for a while and was only spending the past year on HA's and Leader toys.

I actually wasn't collecting for a while and even gave my Rodimus and other TFs to goodwill...

I know, I know...what an idiot, right? I had actually given up on Transformers because I was so bored with them. Most of what I had went to my son and some ended up, like I said, to a goodwill store.

Then, one day at toysrus with my kids after Christmas, I spotted HA Barricade and Sideswipe on clearance for 18 bucks. I grabbed Barricade and was so impressed I grabbed Sideswipe a week later. Ever since then I was overjoyed with looking for TFs. Now Dark of the Moon is here and I'm bored again.

I saw the Protector armor a while back and thought, wow that's awesome! But, I didn't want to shell out the money for something that didn't fit scale wise.

Now, I've come across the crystal version of protector and I'm just blown away. I was thinking of buying it and the SOC Rodimus this month.

My question is though does anyone have both and notice any flaws that differ between the the clear and regular armor? Money's not the issue, so I'm not bothered by the prices.

What's the best one?

Id'e recommend clear, the paint job is amazing, but as far as flaws go? Ask the other guys, I'm just going by looks. Of course, FansProject isn't known for it's flaws, and if it came out later, it's likely they've improved on it in some way, so, win-win!

I just remembered though about the G2 Prime and MakeToys Tank trailer and armor. I'm thinking if I get that, I won't really want a clear Rodimus. Ahhhhh! Decisions!

FWIW,The clear translucent Protector armor/trailer SHOULD be for those who own the clear translucent version of either the Henkei clear rodimus or the KO Clear Rodimus.

If you own the Hasbro clasics 1.0 deluxe rodimus. or the recent RTS 2 pack of rodimus & Cyclonus. Then you SHOULD get the REGULAR colored First release color of protector armor/trailer.

If you own the Botcon black repaint of SG rodimus or the Takara Henkei stunticon wildrider using the rodimus toy mold. then you SHOULD get the black shadow SCYTHE version of Protector armor/trailer.

If you own the Takara Henkei Rodimus, then you need to get the regular colored protector armor/trailer PLUS THE ADD-ON gold spolier wings that comes with a targetmaster.

i have both the regular release clear protector. they're both fantastic but i'll be honest the regular version looks good with either version of hot rod.FYI if you like chrome the regular release needs sidearm as he comes with the chrome bits. the crystal version comes with the chrome spoiler pieces in package but no sidearm. ive got hot rod 1.0 with protector and bis hotrod with the clear one.

personally get protector regular version.hes cheaper and for an extra 10 bucks you can geta sidearm and have a targetmaster,and the choice of either chrome or regular spoilers.(note;the oranges are a little off)

either one would be a good choice imo

as far as shadow scythe ive never been a fan of uneseccary black repaints so i cant coment on him.
