Constructicon Maximus Dilemma

Ok... I started collecting againg towards the way end of the first Clasics line so I issed out on the Wal Mart version.

Since then I have slowly began to piece the original Energon Constructicons together. Yesterday I recieved Sledge and Dustorm.

With my other Energon combiners I've always mixed it up from the instructions a bit. I've always made it so the limbs are same mold, not the the ones you get with the instruction sheet.

Now to my dilemma. I absolutely hate the crane design for either the arms or legs. I now want to use the front end loaders for all of the limbs. Sledge seems to knock Steamhammer's shoulder scoop off ballance and make it look like his head is slightly severed.

Do I actually remove the shovel off of Steamhammer or should I just deal with it and put him in the back corner where nobody can see him?

How about folding the shovel down the side so his shoulders are wider?
