Well, this one took MONTHS to make. Mostly due to the waiting time for receiving the things and because of some life things that got in the way. But now, I managed this comission for my friend:
GROUND UNIT BRUTICUS! My friend love when the combiner is in scale with itself. So Vortex and Blastoff had no place. Furthermore, Swindle was out too. The original members remaining are Onslaught and Brawl.
All characters are custom painted with a gritty and battle worn look. I used spray cans, black wash, silver dry brushing, and for the first time in my life, a airbrush.
Onslaught had some customisation to make him more unique. He's now an anti-air missile carrier. The ones with a trained eye will recognise RTS Mindset's missiles pods.
Next is
Brawl. This paint job was rather simple by leaving his base color.
Next is Brawl's French brother,
Bagarre. And no, he's not the kind to surrender easily:
The best mold to complete the combiner was Rook.
So here's the first of the twins,
Crook:
And the other twin,
Shrewd. These brothers are able frauds and scheemers. They dream to out-swindle Swindle but so far, they never succeed. Regardless, they are also great warrior whose speciality are dirty tactics.
Wait... A FIFTH member? Yup. The Ground Unit have a helper.
Mindset just had enough to be an Autobot so he set his mind at becoming a Decepticon. After a small mod, he now carry the team's weaponry when in vehicle mode.
I used the Universe Deluxe tank Megatron turret to make the weapon platform. I filled it with resin so the weapons plug in solidly in the drilled holes. The result is quite bad-ass.
Now, on to the robot modes!
Onslaught:He's a bit back-heavy and cannot take any fancy poses.
The fraudsters twins,
Crook and Shrewd:The HFG they come with become big grabby hands for this mode only.
The Battle Brothers,
Brawl and Baggare:(FFS blurry picture...)And finally,
Mindset:The backpacker.
The resulting combiner is absolutely incredible. It turned out WAY better than I expected.
Ground Unit Bruticus have trouble standing obviously, but he still manage to be imposing. His missile pods must remain stored on his back, but this will not stop him from fireing them if an air unit dare to come too close.
Mindset the fanboy is dwarfed by Bruticus:
My friend will love his latest combiner for sure.
(Well, I do hope so because the total cost was a bit ludicrous.)Hope you like it too!
