Yae but faces are so bludy dificult to do, I can take 30 mins just to get the face of a human ore a Transformer right. That's wy I love drowing monsters and Zombies if you'r to lazy to give them a proper face, just f them and let them lode an ey ore chunks of ther faces. Well of curs that workes with ther bodyes to.

Zombies and ghouls can have expressions too-as a teacher and an illustrator i say the best thing any budding artist can do is sign up for life drawing classes, learn to draw norms and u can draw anything u imagine much easier!

that is a good idea, that I oredy had! But those classes take place at a time I have to atend other things so I'm trying to tech it myself! It worked before, if you have a look at my very first TF or Venom and at wat I can do now it's like loking at a f up ferary and then at the newest sexyest one.
But still thanks for that Sexilent advise.

Dude, you need a large size scanner.
Also, pics are a little big... I can't see the whole image at once so it slightly ruins it.

Oops sory, I've just noticed that you'r part of the comic projekt. Well come to the team! Sory for not notecing before.!
Not to sound rude or anything but teachers always say that, its a bit of a cop out in my eyes to just say "oh go take some classes".
You dont have to be TAUGHT how to draw by someone to draw the way THEY do, you can teach yourself and develop your own unique style.
I havnt taken an art class in my life, yet i can draw better than most people who have if i wanted to.
Not to sound big headed but just look at my latest WIP.
Just practice...alot...and pay attention to everything you see no matter how small a detail it might be. Study referance, photos, other peoples artwork and learn from that. You dont need to pay money or have a flashy degree to be an "artist" ya know.
No offense to grimsqueaker but just because someone went to a college, got some diploma or whatever that doesnt mean they are a better artist than someone who hasnt got those official credentials and simply has RAW talent, or has taught themselves.
Afterall, some of the best artists, from musicians to film directors to artists, never had any form of tuition when it came to what they did best.
I personally think you can either do it or you cant.
Its that simple.
Ive seen people who couldnt draw for shite, work their arses off for years, trying to improve, and got them no where.
They did everything from studying books and pictures to real things and they still sucked.
So in my eyes it doesnt all boil down to a class room with some up tight snob in a suit telling you how to do this or how to do that, in my eyes its all to do with raw talent.
Sure these schools and classes can help you smooth out the rough edges if you can already draw, but they arent completely necessary.
That wasnt an attack against you or anything Grim', thats just my views on the subject. The fact that you teach art and went to college for it and all that is pure coincidence in this case, as i have felt this way for years.

No offence Sonny but ur views are uninformed-u havent tried both approaches-try both, then decided which is better-for learning skills and techinque the best way is through a mixture of tutition and experimentation, then take the learned knowledge and develop it-but it is essential to develop some of teh basics first. Its just like driving, anyone can do it, and u could easily learn it by urself-u could get ur dad or ur mates to teach u, pick it up through observation-but it is always good to start with some basic tips from someone who is there to help.
Oh and i dont know any art teachers who wear suits, and i know even less who are snobby. If u do meet a snobby suit wearing art teacher run, its peobably a trap!

Oh and while we are at it, please dont confuse style with technique!
Technique is the practical methods used, style is the personnal artistic aspect.
If you focus on Style without learning technique you develop style without substance, which is very easily recognisable, and generally speaking not worth a damn. (just think about those wannane painters who **** paint at a wall and cant draw, style sans substance)

You'r right, I was always bulied at pre-schol cos I culden't draw, but I practiced since then, all I hve in art edjukation is just a basic thing everybody gets at schol. I have to teach me everything myself, so telling me wat is wrong with my pics just helps me improve, by the way everybody chek out Sonray's Master Pice Prime WIP

, it's awsome! To Grim since you probeble won't go to my thred again hers my coment I gave you there:
GrimSqueaker wrote:comment...comment....comment, so u want a comment eh?
(before i comment i am gonna take a guess at ur age, i am thinking between 15 and 17-am i right)
Ok lets be critical, i think u definatly need to drop the markers, they do nothing for ur work. if u are gonna use them, get some watercolour paper (or similar heavy grade paper) and apply a thin layer of marker quickly, then apply water over it, this will make the marker spread and create a rich ink effect-which is much more pleasent to the eye.
Second draw vnom from another angle!!! Seriously, even if it is really difficult, or doesnt look rite try-push urself and u will find many new and varied ways to express urself through drawing!
Apart from that its quite nice-u obviously enjoy drawing and that is the main thing, u cant teach that-a monkey can draw, but only an artist gives a ****
So you can comment, my age is 18 going to 19 in august. That with the markers is like this I haerd a lot of good things about them, so I bougth a sample and wenn I buy something I want to try it out and those pics are old I don't use them any more, but I don't realy care about coloring since it just ruins my pics. My paper is (ecept doodles) paper that costs betwen 3 and 8 pounds and cowls itself drawing paper, like from Faber Castel and WHS. And I do draw Venom from all sides, back up front, right, left, top and botom but I prefer to drow his head from the side, since like that I can realy goe wiled with the detail but if I draw his body its up front.
Now since I don't live any wer near a Artakadamy and the art corses are at very stupid times I have to teach myself everything. That's wy I like it wen somebody expierinced gives comments to my pics and maybe some adwise. And by the way who was crying for atention a wile backe?

Sometimes Grim, not everyone has the luxury of an education that can get them into college for art classses. Not everyone can be in a crowed of people and be told what to do with having a serious anxiety attack.
I just dont have much faith in the whole teaching system, since its never done me any good.
That more than anything was basically what i was trying to say.
I mean if you are poor, cant afford classes, dropped out of school for personal reasons, cant get into college, then doing a thing like taking art classes is a daunting task.
Plus, not everyone learns in the same way. Some people learn better just by making mistakes and fixing them on their own, others need a guiding light, thats why i think that tuition isnt ALWAYS the be all end all answer to everything.
Glad you like the pic DeadMetal! BTW i started building the Masterpiece Trailer today, its gonna look awesome if i can pull it off! I made it an inch longer than your measurements for realism sake, i thought the normal MP trailer looked too stumpy.

OK, as long as it looks good, but can't you make it transformble? I mean cut it wen it's finished and use lego hinges to let it move about, thats wat I'm thinking of and trying to figuring it out. I't would be realy dificult and chalanging, but if I would be afraid to do such a thing I wouldn't be drawing stuff now. Just remember to keep it real.
Can you use you'r tablet again? You stated you culdn't, is it boke? Cos I found something realy interesting in a German Cataloge, it's a pen mouse! It looks like a pen but it's a mouse! It has all mouse functions as handy as a pen and it's kinda cheap, I'm ordering one and if it's any good I'll make a revue and might make orders for anybody who's interested.

I totally understand that there ae different methods of learning, and i am not poohpoohing any particular method-i just think that you can should stop learning and that one should take advantage of every available source of inspiration and enlightenment-you can hardly argue that anything that makes u better is a bad thing? So one should be open to all experiences essentially-and you will learn different things differently at different times.
Oh and my advice for deadmetal would still be to go to lifedrawing classes-which doesnt mean being lectured by a know it all, generally these experiences are run primarily to allow those with an intrest in art to take advantage of a live nude model, and the experince of drawing in a group. These classes are normally run cheaply or even for free by most colleges at night, if u go to your nearest college, poke around and ask politely u will find the most affordable option, which suits your time frame.
i personal dont do life drawing in my own college, when i have athursday night free i pop down the road to a different college, it is a fiver at the door and you can stay as long as you like-it is a great way to unwind!

Well ther is a art college near me it's only a 3 hour jurny

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
