Decepticon/Constructicon art

Got a great pic of G1 Op or BW Megs? Whether it's 2-D or 3-D it's welcome as is any other form of art outside the custom figure world.

Decepticon/Constructicon art

Postby Jayson26 » Wed Jul 29, 2009 12:05 pm

Here is some artwork of decepticons I did and some concept stuff for a true classics devastator, some finished and unfinished. I hope you enjoy. On another note, I am in the process of creating "blueprints" in hopes that someone will make a custom for me. These designs are pretty much going to be the point of something Hasbro would release (if they ever gave into fan demand and stop repainting stuff)

great work, but you should make devastator's legs longer...

Motto: "Build a Giant Robot? Sure it's safe, I mean...it's not like two Stars from a childhood tv show are going to hotwire it and take over the world....right?"
Good stuff. The Blitzwing artwork was really nice, I'd say just work on proportions but other then that, great stuff.

thank you, Porportion is the hardest thing for me cause I pay attention to detail while Im drawing... so in the end it might look a little "off" in parts.

I know its been awhile to posting my artwork but I have come up with several renditions of a proper classics Devastator/constructicon artwork: I will be posting scans in hopes that someone or some company will make me a scratch build. for now here are some Ideas I wish to incorporate:

Hook and Long haul will be Voyager/Ultra class while the limbs will be a class smaller. Leg appendages will attach to the inside of Longhaul's legs (Truck Bucket, which is why he's a larger scale).

Scavenger and Bonecrusher's treads will both create the forearms of Devastator. missle launchers will be designed to look like fists while still forming the springloaded fist/missle fucnction and connect to the bottom of their feet.

Devastators head will be concealed inside the Crane section of Hook and will be more of a backpack in Hook's robot mode. The hook on the end of the crane will rotate 180 degrees to become a shoulder cannon for Hook and Devastator's head cannon (design is complete for Hook). He will "lay" on top of Long Hauls Robot mode in a 90 degree angle to become The upper torso.

Long hauls knees essentially would be Devy's knees also (fold G1 Long haul's Truck mode in half to get the general idea of the lower torso) added knee articulation of course.

Mixmaster's drum will be a backpack in robot mode, again will stay mostly to G1 style through waist and hip articulation to create the Leg

Scrapper's shovel will fold up into a backpack more in robot mode through shovel hinges than the G1 version. Devastator's arms will attach to Hooks arms via pegs. and Thats the majority of it.

I have several different designs to create blueprints capable for mass release. I didnt like the Classics/Energon repaint, Movie Devy didnt cut it, and I want this self contained without the need for add-on sets. many of you will enjoy this I promise and hopefully with enough fan demand we can convince FP to do this seeing as they are looking for ideas.

next up is Classics Blitzwing as the only one Ive seen is obviously animated... When I get pics scanned I can post and you guys can help me as Ive already drawn countless interpretations.
