One thing I know, I wish Nightbird would come back with a spotlight series. I think she's odd and interesting enough to know more about this ninja that could steal the mighty Megatron's robotic evil heart.

Yes. Watch Beast Wars and Beast Machines. The forbidden relationship between Silverbolt (good guy) and Blackarachnia (bad girl) are one of the elements that made the series a more mature TV show. And to make it more interesting, Cheetor was also romantically interested in Blackarachnia. Watch Beast Wars' "Agenda", "Bad Spark", and "Blaster Master" for key episodes on their relationship.

And in G1, watch the episodes "War Dawn" and "The Search for Alpha Trion" to see the relationship between Optimus Prime and Elita One. Very touching. Elita One nearly gives her life to save Optimus Prime. To save her, Optimus "plugs in" to her to give her his power because he is the only one compatible with her technology.

Yeah, there were a number of them. Prime anbd Elita-1, Chromia and Ironhide were serious, Deathsaurus and Esmeryl, were husband and wife (Victory manga) Wreckgar and "Nancy" were husband and wife (The Big broadcast of 2006). These were definatley serious relationships.

Let's put it this way, In the cartoon, they were together even before Prime became Optimus Prime. and, as Dark Starscream said, both were more than willing to sacrifice themselves for the other. In War Within Prime even had mudflaps with Elita's image on them, just like one of us might have a tatoo of our wives. So, they were very serious.

Nice mudflap/tatoo correlation!

Optimus Prime and Elita One dated in younger forms (during the golden age) when their names were Orion Pax and Ariel. Megatron showed up, blasted and nearly killed them both, and Alpha Trion rebuilt Orion Pax into Optimus Prime to lead the newest generation of warriors, and built Ariel into Elita One.

Wel, in the cartoon, she remains on Cybertron leading the females against Shockwave. her ultimate fate is unknown after that.

In the Dreamwave comics, she and every other female transformer had been taken by the Quintessans millenia ago, and as of issue 10 of the ongoing series (the last issue published before DW went bankrupt), she is leading an extraction team about be sent to adbuct Hot Rod, the exact outcome was never resolved, but if any of the images Don Figueroa drew are any indication, she was probably to have been freed from Quintessan influence though possibly injured and nearly killed. On the back of issue ten, DW had an adveritsement for issue twelve with Prime carrying an unconsious Elita-1 in his arms. Thus, her ultimate fate is still unknown in both cases.

Well, never say never. IDW has stated that they want to finish all of the DW story archs left unfinished, they simply can't yet because of the bankrupcy litigation. Once that is finished, i have no doubt that IDW will reprint the exisitng miniseries and finish the incomplte stories, maybe even pick up where DW left of on their ongoing series.

Poor Megatron he could have had an nice evil relationship
with Nighbird. She could been his 2nd lieutenant(sp) after
Soundwave. Really a pity Soundwave didn't have a main squeeze.

As far as Starscream: Stripped from the Decepticon
hierarchy and left in space to rot. *Of course the Audience
hears him howling for astro-meters.*

I like the Arcee/Springer dynamic as well as (excuse me if I'm wrong) Firestar and Inferno.

I honestly don't know. I like to think that she was saved. But I really don't know. The one person on thse boards who would know is Don Figueroa himself (aka DonFig), but I doubt he'll talk.
