Nope. The sharpies won't even come close to approximate the chrome.

It's either 2nd hand or just plain old. Corrosion. It happens.If you live in humid regions in the continental USA, there's a risk. Heck, 1st issues of MP Ironhide had the chrome fading off withing months of release (must have been a poor quality mix of the chrome)
Most you can do is preserve 'em if you have mad skills use Tamiya Clear Koat or Pledge floor polish (there's a topic somewhere here)

Molotow Liquid Chrome markers work a lot better than sharpies, and are readily available at places like Hobby Lobby. While I haven't used it to touch up pre-existing chrome, the results on non-chromed figures are very promising. I may have gone a little overboard on TR Megatron...

I would also buy some gloss clear-coat to protect the chrome with.
* Cyb. Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Leader Sentinel Prime sword, shield
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* Leader Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
* Cyb. Wing Saber left chestplate (argh)
