Fembot just a peek

Post all your customized Transformers here. Whether it's a small mod or a true kitbash, we'd love to see it!

The head doesn't look right? Compared to what? All the other Alternator Arcees out there?
I started out with the idea of a sun roof as can be seen in my first pic, but I didn't like the way it looked. Too much just a repaint. I could spend alot more time on the convertible part, but I think it looks wonderful the way it is. It is sitting on my shelf, so I see it every day. We all know that pics just don't do a Transformer justice.
So what's wrong with Arcees head besides the makeup job. I am a dude not a chick. Maybe that's why it looks strange, too much powder.

Not sure of any way to "narrow" her up. though you might try some light/dark paint tricks on the legs to make them look a bit "hippier", or paint more of the lower legs for more of a boots look.

Me though, I'd probably leave it how it is. :D Is a nice looking custom and would most likely be more then we'd get from hasbro or takara.

Thankyou

The problem is the sculpting. The helmet shape is off, particularly the sides. What little I can see of the neck and jaw, shows a very thick, stout neck, like a foot-ball player, not a slender, feminine neck. Beady eyes, and a large nose, are other problems. It looks like a male bot in drag.

WOW ya know what. i think that he has made a rather nice figure here. and tramp , more often than not your posts totally bash someones work. why not give your critisism a break. rarely do i see you say . yeah that looks great . thats nice. or anything genuinly polite. it seems that its always bad . gotta point out flaws. have to destruct what someone has done. ya know its their repaint/bash. yes it is up here for all critisism BUT give yours a break. its seriously turning me off from this board. i dont like to post things here that often anymore. its kinda sad. i totally felt comfortable here. and over the last few months i dont like to post .. saddens me to think that i dont like the best transformer board anymore....

Glawd, I give credit where credit is due, and critique where critique is due. I give criticism to get people to improve their skills. If all you do is say, ?that?s great?, there is no impetous to improve. This is especially true for those just starting out. They need to be given truthful critiques. That is what I give. Nothing more, nothing less. The simple truth is that the head needs work. First and foremost, the sides of the helmet need to be built up, and the neck needs to be thinned down. The paint job itself is terrific, I?ve said that already, but the head sculpt seriously detracts from the rest of the build. Look at more pics of Arcee?s head and helmet; try to match them. Fill out the sides of the helmet, thin down the neck, and make larger, wder eyes, and it will go a long way to improving the model and making it more feminine. There isn?t much that can be done with the body, but the head can be improved.

I agree that a little CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is very helpful. Sometimes it can seem rather harsh, but as long as it's done thoughtfully it shouldn't be a problem.

However, there is a big difference between criticising someone's work, and outright telling them "you did it wrong, here's how you're supposed to do it" which is generally what you do Tramp. There's not just one way to do everything, and even if there was, it's not always going to be the way you think it should be done.

Go ahead and tell people you don't really like something they've done and make a SUGGESTION as to how YOU THINK something could be better, just don't tell people they've done something wrong as if it's a fact.

i have to agree and say that criticism is great in moderation and used constructively, but not weilded like a club to bash the good feelings of having worked on something to hear that its "fill in the blank with detrimental ranting" and that just makes them wanna give up all together, or go to another board. i love this board...and we need solidarity not internal comprimising of its integrity until it collapses on itself. that said,
i'm done. take it easy everyone.

I still love it in all her glory! and after all the uncalled for criticism that you got, I think you should make another one exactly the same and then paint it neon green and put a mohawk on her and call it the definitive Arcee!!! (that'll show em!) :D

I'll continue posting here, because most of the time they're good posts. I can also take some criticism as long as it's constructive. I know she's not perfect. I didn't make her from scratch. I turned a male-bot into her. She has no neck. Where would I get a neck from?! If you look closely you can see I used the back of Prowl's head and attached a head that I cut down a little. Even with all her flaws and man parts she is still the best looking Alternators Arcee from Prowl that I have ever seen. Yes she's the only one I've seen, but that just makes her all the better. I'm proud of her and I think she needs a few girlfriends.
