FUTURE MASTERPIECE FIGURES
FUTURE MASTERPIECE FIGURES

I was wondering what figures the fans and hard core collectors would like to see released.
Now, I can safely say that the most requested figure would be Megatron.
But with Gun controls in a lot of European and American countries getting tougher, and replicas requiring that dreaded Orange cap, it looks like there will be a substantial delay on it being released.
So I was thinking of some of the other G1 Favorites.
So I will select a group of my favorites.
Blitzwing.
Astrotrain.
(Both have been selected for the FoC line.)
Hound.
Mirage.
Sunstreaker.
(We have Lambor/Sideswipe)
The rest of the Dinobots.
Grimlock is feeling Lonesome.
The Stunticons and Combaticons. (Pls give us G1 accurate figures)
Jazz.
Reflector.
Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. (Double package would be great)
Powerglide.
Coneheads. (Easy peesy)
Wheeljack.
Ironhide and Ratchet, of course.
Now for the BIG GUNS.
Tripticon and Metroplex, for the extreme collectors, who want the WOW factor to kick in when guests drop by.
I am sure there's more to be added, but there's my choice.

Megatron
Bumble Bee
Jazz
I hope they get around to an Ironhide/Ratchet, but to me they MUST give him the battle sled like the G1 toy. I'm really hoping for a Hound and Mirage too...they would look so good as MP's.
It has got me thinking though. Looking at all Season 1 bots and cons, how would you rank them all by sheer popularity, and would that list differ between people living in America, Europe, and Asia?
For example, is Sideswipe a more popular character in Japan for what ever reason that he was the first MP car?
I think Sunstreaker did not come out right away because they had to wait until the Sideswipe was completely finalized and out of production. It would not make sense to design them at the same time if the car modes need to be virtually identical. They are probably designing him on the computer as we speak.

I'm also looking forward to Ironhide and Ratchet. We need some characters in-between the size of Optimus and the size of the cars to balance out the Autobots a bit.
But yeah, I'm with everyone else in wanting all of G1. Mainly the characters that appeared in the first season, but I also want characters from the second season. And if it's not too much of a stretch, I would like a bigger Grimlock, and all of the Dinobots.

While I agree with you on most everything, I will have to say that I would much rather see all of the other Dinobots before another Grimlock. MP Grimmy is amazing and I am not a scale freak like some people. If the only complaint/issue is his size, then I'd rather just move onto another MP figure that hasn't been done (like Perceptor...c'mon people a MP Perceptor would be awesome! Am I the only one who thinks so?!). Needless to say I'd much rather just have all the other Dinobots or someone else than another Grimlock that was pretty much perfect with his first MP treatment.

Ratbat (cassette, not Senator)
Shockwave
Megatron (in new/more accurate style with not-craptastic legs and in scale with MP-10)
Cassette combiners (both Autobot and Decepticon)
Bumblebee (yes, seriously)
Any and all combiners (would likely kill 3rd parties, or at least hurt their bottom line)
Metroplex
Trypticon
Sunstreaker (new mold, not Lambor repaint/retool)
Galvatron
Skywarp (using new MP-11 mold/retool)

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.
And you will know my name is MEGATRON when I lay my vengeance upon you!

I agree with everything you said expect for Metroplex and Trypticon. Unless the scale of those two work with my Classics figures

Granted, going by the old toy scale, you would expect them to be at the same pricepoint as the Autobot Cars that've been announced to date.
However the official scale guide turns this on its head. Trailbreaker, Hoist, Grapple, Inferno, Ratchet and Ironhide are all a good head and shoulders taller than Sideswipe and the Datsun trio. On top of that, you can be sure that Ratchet and Ironhide will both come with their battle-stations as Ratchet's made an appearance in the Cartoon. As such, even if the cranes and Hiluxes were at the price point of Sideswipe and Prowl (however that's doubtful), there's no way that Ratchet and Ironhide wouldn't come in at the price point of Soundwave.

I say next MP is a decpeticon.
Megs or Galvatron. I think Shockwave will come eventually, but they will probably hold off due to the third party beating them to the punch.

Well the interesting thing is that both of them have their battle stations shown next to them on the style guide, making them a package deal.
As for the next con- I'd prefer to wait til next year for him as in the Japanese market, we're already getting 5 of them in the one hit- meaning that we really need more bots first.
As for Megatron, it makers far more sense from an international perspective for his G2 form to get the Masterpiece treatment than his G1 form (specifically due to importing issues). Either that or the Masterpiece version winds up being some kind of tank interpretation of his G1 form, like the depiction shown in his cards on TF: Legends.

iGear made an Ironhide if I'm not mistaken sans battle platform. That seemed like a good interpretation.
I wouldn't be surprised if Takara engineers are taking a few apart and utilising the components as research. At this point its all about repaint value. But it's all speculation (which I don't mind at all) at the end of the day, unless your payslip's marked TakaraTomy.
