Now I'm on Elysia. the particular area is SkyTown. Not Cloud City, Sky Town.

The games controls are a bit messy, but that might be because I never had a steady hand. Otherwise, it's fun as hell.

I wasn't supposed to be on Elysia. I was supposed to be on Bryyo. That makes sense.

I picked up an upgrade for the Grappling beam, now I can swing from stuff, instead of just ripping things apart...so I've got it's original function back.

I'm on another side of Bryyo now, a fiery part with a big chunk of...ice? Methinks Rundas has been here...

Killed Rundas and Ghor, so now I have the Ice Missiles and Plasma Beam. Thank God the Plasma Beam isn't ammo based like in the other Prime games. I also blew up the leviathan Seed on Bryyo. (The boss was made of bitchtanium)

I was shocked to discover that Phazon heals me now. After making me fear the crap out of it for two games, now it's suddenly filling up my energy tanks like no tomorrow. Now I see why Dark Samus loves this stuff so much!

Picked up the Screw Attack. It was on an icy version of the fiery part of Bryyo. I think it's like Aether and Dark Aether, except the Leviathan Seed didn't do something right, and only made a new planet part-way. In any case, I was being contacted by some weird-ass radio voice, only to find out that, once I go back to regular Bryyo, the Aurora Units were trying to contact me. Way to freak me out, you Mother Brain rejects!

Now, in Sky Town, I'm trying to find what I assume is the Multi-missile. When I entered the new area, I scanned the bodies to see what species they were, to get a guess who did this. (If it was Chozo, the Pirates did it, otherwise...) While it didn't say, it did say that it had it's life force drained, and was now a dead husk.

First words out of my mouth: "Oh ****."

Luckily, I have Ice Missiles, which is the entire method to killing Metroids in one deadly shell.

Metroid prime 3: Corruption:
Phazon Metroids are a lot less horrifying than the usual garden-variety Metroid. Their only real advantage is that they can allow certain objects (I.e. my Ice Missiles) to pass through them. So, shoot them with a plasma beam to antagonize them, then, when they change, have them eat an Ice Missile. (They can't phase out when their about to try to eat you) They'll freeze solid, then a few more Plasma shots, and they're sparkling ice dust on the floor.

Finished up on Elysia. I dropped a nuke (Referred to as thermonuclear weapon, and Theronian Bomb) on the Leviathan, the fried the boss inside. (A lot easier than the last one, possibly made of an inferior bitchtanium alloy) Now I have HYPER MISSILES which are kinda cool.

Now I can either go to the Space Pirate Homeworld, or the G.F.S. Valhalla wreckage. I'm doing the Valhalla. I've got to hit up Norion and Bryoo for a few energy cells, though. Phooey.

Cleared shop class. Passed Math level 4, photography 3, geography 4.
Led the unsuspecting prep to a greaser ambush, in the process unlocking the bike park. Cleared out a greaser hangout and claimed it as my own. Learned to tag and have been leaving my marks everywhere. Destroyed 10 of 25 garden gnomes. And the best part of this session was completely demolishing Mr. Hattrick's house while the police were on the property. They never saw me.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX [GBC]:
I just cleared the game, and all I can say is 'Wow.' This is a true Zelda game, not some dumbed-down port of a game that a lot of these modern portable systems seem to get.

That final cinematic MADE the game. It was so sad! Koholint... all its people... the kids playing... Marin and Link's implied love... all gone... And the Wind Fish flying off into the sky...

I'd love to see a sequel to Link's Awakening. Enough with the Wind Waker era, let's see the Wind Fish's dreams being SEVERELY corrupted. A dark Kolohint, destroyed and stuff! Characters turned evil! A sexy assassin Marin! Oh well. A fanboy can dream, as this game clearly proves.

Nintendo, my Minish Cap, er, hat is once again off to you.

Now I have to guide some Demolition Troopers through the Pirate base, so they can blow **** up. I have to keep four alive, and I lose all but three at the exact moment I kill the Berserker Lord. If their expertise is blowing stuff up, why don't they give them stronger armor? That'd increase efficiency.

It's gonna be one of those missions, isn't it? Where it's so hard I consider not playing again? Sucks to that! I give up now, Ridley's never going to let me hear the end of this!

Sweet Raptor Jesus! We're back. And it's June 10. ZOMG 88MPH

Metroid II: Return of Samus [GB]:
Beat the hell out of the Queen (turbo FTW), found the little Metroid hatchling, beat the game. Now it's off to Ceres station where all hell will break loose. Yay!

Cleared my GBA flashcart, loaded it up with Advance Wars, Final Fantasy, and n0rp.

Advance Wars [GBA]:
Working my way through Field Training. At the APC mission. Got an straight A ranting so far.

Final Fantasy 1: Dawn of Souls [GBA]:
Started a Final Fantasy 1 game. I haven't played any FFs since FF1 for NES.

Beat up the Princess' kidnapper with ease. Got the bridge built. Crossed it, watched the video. I love that theme music. Went to the 'overrun by pirates' town. Made said pirates my bitch. Got a ship. Went to the Elves' town. Went to the Dwarfs' mine. Went to the witch's cave. Got the Crown. Can't go further west due to rocks in my/no sea access, so I'm going to go east and see what I can find in towns, caves, etc.

Loving the hell outta this game. Got all my party members to Level 17.

GAME.OVER!
Beat the game by pretending to be a Big Daddy (snappy dresser and all) and letting the Little sister's all come to me, attracted by my Big Daddyness. Followed the little tyke through some locked doors, defending her from a horde of splicers and machines that don't seem to understand that 6-year old girls aren't considered a thread. Then again, if I saw 6-year old girls wielding oversized syringes, I'd turn on the gun turrets too.
After protecting said 6-year-old, she gave me her syringe and I made my way to Fontaine. I must say, over-splicing is good for his health but not his manhood. For a naked glowing man with a brooklyn accent, he's not "packing heat". 8)
Anyway, defeating Fontaine by sticking my big needle in his body, draining the questionable juices, and repeating. once I beat him, he kicked my ass only to get stabbed to death by a horde of little Sisters. Again, nothing more dangerous than a child. Got the good ending where I raise the young girls as step-daughters. Sadly, that's not a premise to a bad adult film (coming soon: BioF***, where "Big Daddy" takes on a whole new meaning).

Replayed a 2nd time to try and get the evil ending. But apparently killing a little girl with my bare hands and letting 2 others get violently slashed by splicers doesn't qualify as evil. Kinda like how getting a D+ still qualifies as a passing grade these days. sigh... Anyway, watched the evil ending on Youtube and moved on.

Now for a mini-review. This is a great game but with some glaring flaws. There's numerous physics glitches where corpses will shiver non-stop or keep moving, causing me to waste ammo on already dead enemies. The difficulty is laughable, Primarily due to the vita-chambers. With no limit to revivals and no cost of such, there's no difficulty at all. My battles with Big Daddy's weren't so much about "can I survive this battle?" as it was about "after I die, will he still be here by the time I get back". I'd waste a half-dozen lives just running to the big daddy, whittling him down, dying, and returning to the battle. Bah.
Can't say much for the whole harvest vs rescue system either. THe gifts given by the girls actually made it MORE profitable to save them than to harvest them, taking away a good amount of strategy and decision making.
The plasmids themselves were somewhat questionable. In truth, I could have played the entire game with only telikinesis and Electric Bold. Winter freeze was worthless, the insect swarm caused more harm than good (the bees would undoubtedly attack a big daddy I didn't know was in the next room and send him after me), and the cyclone trap didn't do nearly enough damage to be worthwhile.
Still, this is a great game and one I really enjoyed playing it. I just really don't feel a need to replay it again though. For all the options, there's very little I'd want to change on a second trip through. oh well...
