HFTD Strafe
Hi folks
Quick question, Strafe is a redeco of mindwipe yes?
Mindwipe is a jet/robot and fan-formed bat, yes?
Is strafe identical to mindwipe, bar the colours?
is he worth getting?
just asking as Toys'r'us in sheffield UK seem to have uncovered a vast supply of lugnuts, grappels and strafes, and i'm tempted to get them...

I got Strafe and the paint apps on his face were ****! watch out for that and then i took a good look at his colours and thought he looked lame Mindwipe is the superior, i didnt even take him out the box i took him straight back the next day i just did not like him at all.
The other two i would highly recommend especialy Lugnut i got those the same week i took strafe back glad i did or i would not have been able to get them both.

The paintjob doesn't seem to like the mold and the character this partical mess is really not very much like the original Technobot. Get Mindwipe instead if you can.
Grapple and Lugnut are awesome.

Re: HFTD Strafe
Strafe is probably the weaker deco out of the 3 that have made it to the UK (no sign of Deepdive) but I quite like him anyway. My Gentei Strafe hangs out with my smaller scale Classics 'bots and RtS Strafe with the larger scale guys so it's nice to have a (relativly) obscure character represented on both shelves.
Pro tip, if you've got a Home Bargains near you these guys have been showing up for £12 so you could save yourself a few quid there.

Sweet!
may have to have a look, though my local one just seems to have ROTF BB's for £5...
Not to keen overall on grappel or lugnut, not sure why, but grappel looks a bit to short to me in alt mode, and lugnut... dunno just not my cup of tea. Was interested in strafe only as i've seen the "Bat" version of mindwipe on here, but having an albino bat might have been fun, think i'll only get him if he does appear at home bargains.
Still trying to pick up a couple of the Power core 2 packs, but can't find sabotage, and undertow in the UK atm.

id definitely get him if he is cheap, but as others have said Mindwipe has a better paint scheme. Both robot mode and alt mode look really nice with minimal kibble.

I could never have chosen Strafe over Lugnut and Grapple but that's me if you can get him the price of a deluxe go for it that's probably the right price for him.
Dont think he will make a good bat though as the gimmick if intentional is because G1 mindwipe is a bat in alt and with ROTF MW being black he has that look.

I know a LOT of people who would gladly pay you to pick up a Grapple, Lugnut, or Strafe for them...

Re: HFTD Strafe
hmmm i am tempted to order about 4 of each from the site, then sell tham back on ebay to cover the costs of my 3...
12x£13 = £156
sell each for £22 on ebay (covers postage and ebay fees) and means i'll have paid £0 for mine...
or is that just cheeky?

I had Strafe in my hand at TJ Maxx and put him back. He just looks to "movie" to fit in with my Classics. That and he was a straight repaint of Mindwipe. They really didn't do anything to differentiate the two. Give me a new head, rework the jet mode a bit, something!
