This will be my first attempt posting anything I have done. This was my first effort, basically just repainting a KO Mirage to look a little more, umm... Miragey? Anyway, the only real reason I wanted to post these was to explain what I did and see if anyone has any constructive criticism or tips on my methods.
For this I wanted to try using an airbrush, so I fired up my old Paasche Millenium and used some Testors enamel paints. Most of the blue was airbrushed while most of the steel and some of the white was hand brushed. I tried to use very light coats, but I think the blue I used for airbrushing was too thick. I plan to thin it a bit more in the future. The panel lines are done with a mix of ultra fine Sharpie and a very thin black ink pen. I think I like the ink pen better as it can be used over paint without any issue and has a flat finish when dry. Ultimately, I wish I had repainted the entire figure, as the blue on the head and most of the white pieces I didn't paint elsewhere stick out due to the finish difference(the upper legs really look off colorwise as well). So, that pretty much covers my paltry effort on this one. Now if I can get the links right I am in great shape. Thanks for any suggestions. I will be posting my next project tomorrow.
