cyclonus vs grimlock
cyclonus is second only to galvatron and the like in terms of strength, his speed is among the best of all the transformers, and his highly skilled. grimlock is super strong and durable, with bloodlust that few decepticons can match. who takes it?

Cyclonus would have a distinct air advantage, and while not as strong, is considerably faster than the old Dinobot too. in the end i think Cyclonus would have a better chance against other leading TFs than Grimlock would, so he should also fair better in a fight with the second best gladiator of old Cybertron.
Grimlock's best chance is a up close hand to hand fight in an enclosed enviroment were there is no room for Cyclonus to manuver. With this territorial advantage Grimlock would dominate. Without it he might not get a hold of the unicronian foe long enough to finish him off.
There should be something said about Cyclonus being second only to Galvatron. Galvatron in most G1 continuity can beat the Prime that can beat Grimlock. Grimlock has comparable strength to Prime; not speed.

If your going with Grimlock flying in mech mode, there is still a speed/maneuverability advantage inherit to Cyclonus jet mode. Both are top tier in there respective factions, but Galvatron that cyclonus is compared to and the Optimus Prime that Grimlock is compared to a not remotely evenly powered in most G1 renditions.tequila stu wrote:but not totalAxiomScion wrote:Cyclonus would have a distinct air advantage
While i don't think the fight is so onesided, I still don't see Grimlock walking away the victor.

Ol' Grimmy will beat Cyclonus up because Cyclonus used to be an Inseceticon and Gimlock would squish Cyclonus like a bug like he used to be.

Target 2006 Cyclonus would crush Grimlock. Any other Cyclonus incarnation would probably lose.

Grimlock has a missile launcher, a gun and the ability to throw large things long distances.
Grimlock has enough intelligence to build a reasonable dummy of himself and use it as a decoy target. Cyclonus would come by to bomb the decoy. At that point, Grimlock could snipe Cyclonus out of the sky. He'd aim at the jet engines to prevent Cyclonus from taking off again. Then, he has a chance of beating Cyclonus on the ground.
If Grimlock fails to lure in Cyclonus somehow and has no cover or escape route, he'll eventually lose.
I'm betting that Grimlock can at least start to beat Cyclonus with a well-placed shot. Cyclonus would be wise to withdraw for repairs. Grimlock wins but Cyclonus survives with only minor injuries.
