Personally I'm happy we are getting FOC, even if IMO The armada game was better then WFC. Yeah, I said it.
Anyway, now that bulkhead MAY be out of the picture, how are the autobots going to function? I mean, now all they have is prime on the means of pure muscle. They need a brawny autobot brawler, and minus bulkhead, they'll be a bit short in that department...

Sounds like a good way to introduce Ironhide and Ultra Magnus.

If the Cons keep bringing in new cast members, why not do the same for Team Prime?
Not going to give up on Dinobots here

Yeah, i could do without the Dinobots to be honest. I'd like them to bring in a lesser known character and give them the spotlight. Someone like Trailbreaker, Hound or Smokescreen.
That said if they do bring in a more known character then Ultra Magnus would rock.

Re: The Official Transformers: Prime Discussion Thread
so now that we are close to the return date how do you guys vote on bulkhead? give a thumbs up or down and perhaps your thoughts on why.
thumbs up. I think in the end it will be wheeljack who bites the big one. as for bulk my money is on him being put in a stasis chamber, like airachnid's, until they can fix him.

So, I'm hanging out with my family and we're at my moms boyfriends house. he has a 55 inch 3D HD tv. And it has a setting where you can make anything being watched on it in 3D. I hooked my PS3 up, throw it on Netflix and watch Transformers Prime with the 3D setting on. It worked an it was cool as hell.

Armada game rocks. I want a Prime game with the same kind of gameplay!
I think the best thing they could do is handicap Bulkhead, where he's always at the base with Ratchet. Either way, I'm betting Wheeljack will just start to hang at the base, and there's not gonna be someone new too soon. If there is, bring on Ironhide!

Well, the next episode consists of Wheeljack and Miko seeking revenge, so we know they'll be partnered at least once. (If it goes the way I think it will, he'll slowly become attached to her once he sees how nutso she is.) I could see Sierra being the next human partner to one of them. I think we'll see a lot more of Wheeljack as the season, and show, goes on.
As for Ironhide, it was confirmed, last I heard, that he's toy only. He will not be making an appearance in the show. Neither will his repaint, Kup. Such a nice mold, it seems. What a waste to have it be toy only. I'm breaking my rule of buying cast only toys, because that mold ROCKS.

One could consider that his partner is Optimus. It's all too unofficial, however.

I want them to bring in a new Autobot who doesn't need a human partner. I mean, every single series to come before Prime didn't need to rely on a human partnership for every single main character, non-Optimus, field combatant Autobot. Why this series feels the need to do just that is beyond me.

Ratchet and Wheeljack don't have partners, unless you consider Raf Ratchet's partner (when he's more Bumblebee's). Plus there's plenty of non-human action to make it acceptable.

That's a bit specific, don't you think? It's only three characters. It's not like every character introduced is paired up with a human.

I refer you to the above words in bold. Ratchet is not a "field-combatant" Autobot (he stays at the base, away from the battlefield--his few times going into the field were special occasion exceptions), nor is Wheeljack a "main character" Autobot (he's still a guest star).YRQRM0 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I want them to bring in a new Autobot who doesn't need a human partner. Yet, almost every time someone brings up the idea of bringing in a new Autobot to join the team, people start thinking like, "I wonder who he should be partnered with?" or "Sierra could be his partner," or "Jack's mom could be his partner," or "Vince could be his partner," or "Fowler could be his partner", and so on and so forth. Arcee, Bulkhead, and Bumblebee getting human partners has set this mentality in the minds of many people, and past series have shown us that this human-Autobot partnership is completely unnecessary (especially if there's no gimmick involved like being Headmasters or whatnot).Shadowman wrote:That's a bit specific, don't you think? It's just, you're complaining about the cast having human partners, but the three that don't, don't count. It's a problem that only exists because of certain conditions you've set up. Optimus doesn't have a partner, but he doesn't count because he's Optimus, Ratchet doesn't count because he doesn't go on field missions (Except in "Darkness Rising Parts 1, 3, and 4," "Out of His Head," "Stronger, Faster," "Orion Pax Part 3," and "Triage", you don't see Soundwave out in the field that often), and Wheeljack doesn't count because he's not in enough episodes.

Because those are the conditions that make people think that they need human partners. Those who want Wheeljack upgraded to main character status keep bringing up someone like Sierra or Miko (should Bulkhead die) becoming his partner when he doesn't need one. Same goes for other characters people want to be brought into the show as main Autobot character.Shadowman wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Yet, almost every time someone brings up the idea of bringing in a new Autobot to join the team, people start thinking like, "I wonder who he should be partnered with?" or "Sierra could be his partner," or "Jack's mom could be his partner," or "Vince could be his partner," or "Fowler could be his partner", and so on and so forth. I've heard people talking about wanting human partners for Ratchet and Optimus, so your conditions are kind of a moot point. People will talk about what they want in a TV show. It doesn't mean it's going to happen.

An interesting scenario would be that they dont have any stasis pods, and in the short time granted, would be forced to let Airachnid go free to save Bulkhead.
Or even more, sneak abourd the nemesis using the relics, grap the forge, and repair bulk.
Or just have him die off and introduce a new character (Not for this last option myself)
Or better yet, rebuild him upon retrieving the hammer, only after freeing airachnid, and have the damage be so severe that they have to upgrade him into a new character. A taste of all of the above.
Personally, I think NONE of that will happen. But it's always fun to speculate.

It's kind of the theme of the Autobots side is that we learn more about the Transformers from their relationships with humans than we do with any intra-team communication. The only way we learned about Arcee's past is due to Jack's presence; the plight of Bumblebee's voicebox was a story told to Raf by Ratchet, also revealing his guilt in the process and Miko's loyalty/Bulkhead's soul (for lack of a better term) was only revealed when the two of them interacted.
So wether we like it or not, the humans are the characters that encourage character growth within the Autobots. Thus, given the current writing style, if Wheeljack were to become a main character (or another Autobot appears through a plot device) it would make sense to pair them up with a human.
I, for one, would rather see more Autobots interacting with eachother than their humans, but that's unlikely to happen.

Humans are an integral part of Transformers because they give the audience some perspective. Generally, the Autobots have been a team for far, far longer than we've known them. Their bonds are already set. They know each other up, down, left, right, and sideways, so they don't often question each other's behavior or motivations. Human characters, on the other hand, get introduced at the same time as the audience, so they serve as the audience's doppelganger to ask why characters act how they do, their pasts, their motivations, and serve to create new relationships and inspire character growth. Consider Airachnid's debut episode, "Predatory". That episode laid bare a hidden side of Arcee's true personality, the one hiding behind the tough girl, who is traumatized by the loss of multiple partners and is afraid to completely open up to Jack because she's afraid he'll meet a similar fate. If there were no Jack, we wouldn't see that side of her. We would see the Arcee who is angry at Airachnid for killing Tailgate and is hell-bent on revenge, like we saw demonstrated in "Armada". We might still get a bit of her past. But we wouldn't get that fear of losing another companion, the fear of even making any more emotional attachments, if Jack wasn't there to be in danger, and then save her tailpipe.

Tell that to Dinobot. Afterall, the tragically poetic and most memorable Beast Wars episode, happened because Dinobot protected a small village full of HUMANS. If it werent for the human element, even there, we may never have seen that side of him.
