Question about IDW Fort Max

- Weapon: Atom-Smasher Cannon
Does Fort Max have the ability to transform into a giant robot in the IDW Universe? I just read Last Stand of the Wreckers and Fort Max. Why didn't he transform into gigantic sized robot and step on everyone in the beginning?

His comics version is much smaller than his cartoon version. In the comics, he's large, but not as large as a combiner. He's bigger than the leaders like Prime and Megatron, though.
