Have a hard time believing that they're doing UT homages and NOT doing Armada Sideways.

Gotta get SOME use out of that Deluxe Groove mold.

Yeah, it'd be a serious d!ck move, if neither company ever uses that mold again, especially TT, since they made it in the first place

Override guys? (Unsure if thats the exact name) plus that mold doesn't look like armada Sideways too much unless you do some major retooling that requires just some fanagling but why do people need figures for characters that bad when its better for an armada character to get a new mold, just look at cw onslaught with demolishers head people wanted it even though it barely looked anything like demolisher, and I find its better for armada characters to get new molds for their figures unless the mold fits them perfectly its pretty good but most of the time they don't when fans want the character with the mold sometimes

I would have never bought that demolisher unless it had a new combined mode head

Why do we want these figures? Because they're homages, and the fact that has/tak don't seem very interested in anything other than G1 stuff, if they're going to ignore the bw anniversary, what are the chances of getting updates to ut stuff?

Besides, if they're going to homage figures already, why give us a seeker when they could give us a cooler figure like sideways from bigroove?

And the starscream figure could just as likely be energon starscream in his second form (energon screamer in g1 colors)

Takara is making an MP Optimus Primal their not ignoring Beast wars plus Battle Core Optimus Prime seems like a Star convoy homage but the more I think about it I only see Nova Prime, and the colors don't match the colors of super link starscream its more of what starscream is and was plus we have been getting a lot more unicron trilogy updates Armada Megatron, and Armada Starscream. Also their probably are ignoring beast wars because its the anniversary of the orginal transformers g1 movie

So, what do we know about the Rook leg?

• Off-white shell with red highlights.
• Red chest peg.
• Black head with red crest.

What you describe as "off-white" and "red" look more "tan" and "orange" to a lot of other people (myself included), which MW Soundwave isn't (he's gray and maroon).

The weapon is definitely orange, but the main body looks to be red, brown, and a very light tan.

Sorry, definitely looks orange and brown to me, but I think mw soundwave is still the frontrunner for whoever this is supposed to be.

On this, we agree. I mean, who else could it be besides Demolishor?

Armada hoist technically fits the color scheme (as I see it) perfectly, even the claw gizmo makes sense, but that would take a lot of explaining in both fiction and to us, the fans...

Except aramada hoist was mostly white, and the legs mostly black, their was a little orange but their is no white but silver plus wouldn't be odd to give a seemingly all decepticon combiner team 1 autobot limb in the mix

Seems pretty brown and orange to me



And as I said, even if they did it, it would require some explanations, but just look at what hasbro expected us to do with glavatronus, that alone set the precedent for having a 'mixed allegiance' combiner.

I am certain this isnt a full on ut homage, I think instead its multigenerational. The torso is too spot on G1 galvatron toy.

One mp does not an anniversary celebration line make (especially compared to the glorification g1 has been getting this past half-decade - and will, no doubt, be getting the year after that, or whenever), nor do two ut figures (one a pitiful approximation based on a crap mold, and the other far too small) constitute 'a lot'of armada updates...

As for starscream, it's an homage, and I clearly stated that it could be him ONLY IF IT WERE TRUE THAT THE ENTIRE FIGURE WERE MADE UP OF UT HOMAGES, if it isn't, then, yeah, its probably g1, but, come to think of it, armada ramjet had a similar color layout, and he was definitely related to Unicron

Agreed, there are far more options if this is the case, g1 crankcase, g1 starscream, armada thrust, and mw soundwave fit the bill, but I'm still not sure what cyclonus is supposed to be. If parts of him really are soft lilac (which they look to be based on the pic - to me), then they could be going with henkei colors, only more pastel; otherwise, it could be based on energon megs, or megaplex

As for the Beast Wars anniversary, MP Optimus is not the only one. Hasbro has already commented that they are using all their anciliary lines and partners to honour it such as the Platinum Year of the Monkey Primal and the entire Botcon set, which brings us more show accurate renditions of characters. It is not what I wanted but we cant say Hasbro is ignoring this anniversary. They are giving more for it directly than they gave the Transformers themselves at their 20th anniversary.

Maybe it's because Cyclonus/Galvatron us is the only one they haven't done, but is this Takara's submission for that mold, as opposed to something stringently cartoon accurate like they usually do?

Well there's nothing to base it on - dude's never combined (except for that one time with tidalwave) - so there is nothing to base it off of, strictly speaking. Now, that's not to say that they couldn't do the deco's based off of the shows they were in (except for crankcase, he never showed up in the show, right?), but otherwise, I think this is simply to placate the fans, and may not have even been in their plans at all, thus reinforcing my need for an explanation for who this guy is supposed to be.

Otherwise, if they wanted to go gung-ho with a galvatron homage, and make the combined mode look exactly like galvatron in the show, you'd wind up with 5 purple 's, and they'd end up being drones, or 5 random purple 'con's that have nothing in common and no place being combined, nor would it be very interesting; and if they did it based on the toy, you'd end up with 5 grey 's

The left leg of the combiner (using rooks mold) is white, orange and brown. I even tested the picture in paint using the sampling tool, unless the lighting is changing the colors (but none of the other colors looks off), rooks legs are brown with orange feet, which is in line with armada hoist - brown with orange feet:
