bad ebay transaction wheeljackslab
- Motto: "I just want to take a nap"

Recently started organizing and finding missing pieces of my childhood toys. I have been having WAY too much fun with my transformers. Went on eBay to find some Soundwave parts and got a piece that didn't fit like it should. Seller was wheeljackslab. I contacted him and he suggested I switch the launcher and the gun and nothing else. I left NUETRAL feedback as I wasn't that upset. Since I have done so wheeljackslab has been harrasing me ALL DAY. He called me a liar and dishonest!
I just thought people should know this. I'm more than a little shocked at the unprofessional attitude the seller immediately took. I have bought off him before with no issues, but this time, whoa!
So in short, BUYER BEWARE!

I'm with WolfDawg here. My transactions with Wheeljackslab were very pleasent experiences. Never had a problem. Yes, I'd like to see what he said.

As would I. I've bought from him several times and have never had a single problem.

Oh no, no. Wheeljackslab is one of the worst sellers on eBay, actually. I helped a poster (he's no longer a member here) fight with Paypal and he won against WJL and they made him refund every penny, including shipping.
WJL is notorious for doing well for some time and then flippin' his lid and going off on you without provocation.
And his transactions will go well, for a while, and then all of a sudden, he'll screw you, pretty bad.
I refuse to deal with him.

What was the part that didn't fit? The parts that usually comes off Soundwave is is his " battery cover " and the missile holders. So they are suppose to hit regardless. If it's his "harpoon" missiles, you can check it's spring mechanism first (do what "Wheeljack" and Ratchet usually do best with their fellow 'bots).
edit: If those "batteries" of his are the problem, either the hole of your Soundwave is too big/worn or put some clear acrylic around the rim to make them fit. I don't think it's WJL fault.
I too had ordered parts from him with no problems (his shipping is kind of pricey I'd grant you that). Maybe you should have emailed him first? If he continues to harrass you, well you can tell on ebay about it but before the name calling started, a simple email first before rating him would have helped prevented it.

You're certainly not the first to report problems with this seller. I've probably purchased from him 10 times and I've never had any problems that weren't resolved to my satisfaction. I once purchased G1 Skullcruncher and Chromedome from him, they were both listed as complete. Skullcruncher showed up missing his Headmaster and Chromedome's Headmaster had the tabs on each side of head cut off. I let him know and he refunded enough money for my to re-buy the two headmasters on other auctions since he didn't have replacements in stock. Outside of that all my transactions with him have been pretty smooth.

First email from wheeljackslab:
Dear bmel17,
OMG..........really?
I asked you to switch the two so you could tell me if for example if the same weapon would not fit properly in the other spot. This was to determne if the part was nonstandard, or if your figure is.
You never replied, there is a method to this. Example there are in fact to fist sizes for prime, 2 wing sizes for all the jets, 2 grapple gun sizes.
Now if you want to retract that comment, you will still get the same service you would have, but at this point your feedback is dishonest, albeit I assume a mistake in understanding the why.....
- wheeljackslab
My response:
Dear wheeljackslab,
Remark was left as nuetral as I felt a negative was unjust. If this was your method, fine, but you might have explained that in your original response. I am aware of the different peg sizes for the seekers as you labeled them as such in your auctions. This was not the case in the soundwave peices.
I have bought a number of items from you in recent months. I even bought seeker parts that were the wrong size and would not fit my figure because I didn't know which size I needed. Did I complain or leave false feedback? No. Did I return them? No, as I felt it wouldn't be worth the time and S/H just as I felt with the Soundwave peice.
This is all truth, and saying that I left feedback on the experience that ACTUALLY happened is me being dishonest is actually a slap in the face of my integrity.
I run a business for a living and if I responded to my customer by calling them dishonest, I'm pretty sure I would lose a large amount of customers. Just as you have with me.
Good day.

his response:
Dear bmel17,
The moment you left the neutral business was over and I blocked your ability to bid until this was resolved, because it was dishonest, much lie a lie of omission. I asked you to do that to determine if the figure or the part was unstandard it's the only way to know. I could send you 10 launchers, if the bot is nonstandard it a waste of time and yours, which is why that needed to be determined, yet you refused to do so, then left feedback not based on full facts. There is a reason I asked you to do it, I am sure in your business you ask your clients to do something and when they refuse you shake your head, feedback is public your dealings are not, you do not get public feedback based on your every action. I consider it closed since you will not do that simple thing, and I can't make you.
mine:
Dear wheeljackslab,
a lie of omission? where did you instruct me to switch them and the REASON why??? you said switch them. nothing else besides switch them. after you have harassed me now I would rather my money back and to return the items on principal. I'll be contacting eBay to conduct it since you can't get your facts straight. after this I actually wish I left negative feedback instead of neutral.

It goes on and on from him too!
Problem with the parts was the batery launcher and the battery gun. launcher fit in the shoulder and the gun didn't.
Best part is that I looked at my original email about the problem and I told him I tried them both and that the one fit and the other didn't!!!!
lol, in the other emails he continues to ramble about my refusal to comply with his methods, seems like I did buddy!

Maybe I'm misreading the emails...but he really doesn't seem like he's flipping his lid. Seems like he's asking legitimate questions to make sure you're not accidentally under the impression that the piece doesn't fit. Maybe he was a little out of line with the whole dishonest comment, but that's definitely not what I would call him going crazy...

oh there are more emails. I sell on ebay too (random stuff) and would never talk to someone in that way.
Calling me dishonest is a slap in the face. For someone I don't even know to question my integrity is crazy.
plus the original messege I sent to him said that I alreafy did what he asked. So how many times do I need to tell him? Plus it was an $11 auction! I only left NUETRAL feedback. I really wasn't all that upset untill he called me a liar

He's the biggest jerk ever. Worked with him twice and got bad results twice.
He used to be great to work with during his early days, but after he got an ego on him about being the only game in town, he feels he can get away with whatever he wants and treat his customers badly.
He's being an idiot with Soundwave. None of the pegs for Soundwave have any variants as far as I know. All of them should work.

Agreement 100% on the shipping. Unless you get large orders, US$ 32.00 IS kind of pricey (at my neck of the woods).
@bmel17
If that's the case( his OT responses) I hope your troubles are resolved soon.
There are other vendors in ebay that sell with less constricting shipping rates.

No comment on your transaction, other than it seems like two egos butting heads.
I recommend transformerland.com. I've ordered a lot over the years and they have always been good experiences.

This.
However, I will say that regardless of any attitude on either end, WJL seems to not understand, or at least appreciate, a seller NOT wanting to return/exchange parts. I don't see the explosions you seemed to be implying, but I do totally agree that his attitude was unprofessional. I also think that your decision to no longer do business with him is completely appropriate, and I wish you luck with having eBay resolve all this for you.
I've only had a few experiences with this guy personally, and for the most part they've all been pleasant. A few years back I bought a complete, minus a little chrome wear in excellent condition G1 Grapple from him. At least, I was under the impression it was in excellent condition - it arrived with joints looser than any figure I own, or have gotten since. If you ignore the loose joints (which doesn't matter when it's sitting on a shelf) it's otherwise fine though. Still, while I don't think I'll be necessarily avoiding him in the future if I need some parts, this story has definitely convinced me to make sure I do my research into anything I buy from him beforehand.

So these three dyslexic men walk into a bra... oh HAHAHA I am so funny

I never said he exploded, but he just acted extremely unprofessional. I was just shocked after he didn't offer to do anything, and left nuetral feedback, that he went there and called me dishonest. After replying to him and explaining myself, the emails were endless and took a nasty overtone on his part. He claims he was "troubleshooting" the part. If he explained that it might be a different story. The way his response seemed to me and the ten other people I had read it, made it seem like he was blowing me off. Then when after three or so weeks after his inital response I just left nuetral feedback as I wasn't extremely upset, until that is he called me a liar~! Since then he has just kept a holier than thou attitude and keeps on with the liar theme. All in all, just not the experience I am looking for when I buy things from someone. The dishonest/liar part to me is a huge deal since I have and still serve in the military and one of my core values is integrity first.

When life deals you lemons, turn it to lemonade. Anyway, there are lot's of sites that sell vintage TFs. Not necessarily ebay but reputable at best.
Based on your description of being in the military, have you been assigned to Japan? I know of a site/place that sells (sometimes 2nd hand) vintages that are in top condition. The TFC Soundwave version for example(it's got firing missiles for Primus' sake
) All parts fit and none of the nasty lip
Sell that clunker of a Soundwave and get the TFC version. (I'll give you a heads up direction where to find the store.)

wheeljackslab is one of those guys that if you've never had a bad experience with, people call you crazy and tell you about their bacd experiences like you're just forgetting you were handled roughly. I'm not trying to say they are exaggerations, but I've dealt with him many, many times and have never had an unpleasant transaction. That by no means means that everyone else is wrong, but people have told me I was wrong about my dealings with him because they've had bad ones.
In my experiences, he ships quick, and has never sent me an incorrect piece, and communicates effectively. I know many people have had unpleasant dealings with him, and I'm not delusional so as to think that my interactions somehow speak for everyone, but I am living proof that one can have a positive dealing with this seller.

Re: bad ebay transaction wheeljackslab
I used to use him a lot and never had a problem until oneday.....I ordered a few things from him I forget the exact wording but there were to be complete and in good non broken condition. The pictures were all one angle and when they arrived they were all broke and some pieces missing.I remeber the wheel tab was busted clean off one.No pictures of that side of the figure.I rememeber he was an ass to me about it and called me a liar.He finally refunded me money and I mailed it back. After years of be a loyal customer he told me to F off and never buy from him again in his last email.I did call names in my emails I was polite but firm.So the lesson I learned was hes a complete douche bag.
