I seen a few Armorhides kitbashed into Optimus Prime so I decided to see if I can make my own :grin:

As you can see from a couple of the pics the paint chipped off the joints when I transformed him :-(

Any tips on how to keep it from coming off?

what kindofpaint did you use? enamel or acrylic? you can use a second clear coat of paint, superglue also, to protect the rubbing points.

I used Kustom Kolors enamel paint
Thanks for the tip I'm going to try and brush some superglue on the parts that rub together

Heck, to round out your lil' Prime, why not try to find a Hot Wheels "Truckin' Transporter" and repaint it into Prime's trailer?

I'm actually using THS-02 Convoy's trailer right now and it looks perfect on him but now that you mention it I would like to try and paint a trailer for him

Unfortunately, no. It'll fit Deluxe Armorhide (almost) perfectly, but would be WAY to small for Prime!

Redline's trailer for Armorhide. This was made using the previous available Truckin' Transporter trailer, originally molded in grey plastic, & costing all of $5-7 bucks. The trailer decal is from Reprolabels, and I'm relatively sure you can still get one from them for $10, but if you'd like it in different colors, it may cost extra.

The one that I just found recently was black, and fits him as well as the original one fit my Cybertron Armorhide (after whittling down on the trailer peg) as you might tell from some of these pics in my Photobucket account...

Anyways, thought you might be interested and I tossed that up there if you ever wanted to give THS-02 his trailer back. -It does look pretty good on him though!
