Well they already squandered the chance to do something different with most of these characters via SIEGE, instead opting for the tired and redundant 80's Earth ala Earthrise. I'd really like them to at least try to honour that aim for originality given in SIEGE [Decepticons].. Maybe give Earth Modes to those that never had them?

I love debating with you, I really do. At least until you get all mad, then it's not fun anymore.
But, honestly, don't you ever think bashing things as 'tired and redundant' gets tired and redundant? Just have some fun, man.
I don't care for Energon/Armada/Whateverthethirdpartis but you don't see me on here (or anywhere) wasting my time bashing it - in fact, when it's compatible with current stuff (like Siege) I embrace it. Instead of saying 'tired and redundant' you could have posted that and said, 'this might have be a nice way to go to give us something different' or endless potentially viable alternatives that don't involve a negative in the analysis, but you choose it damn near every time - which really takes some of the wind out of your sails to take what comes after the absurdly predictable G1 bash seriously.
You clearly love Transformers on some level, you wouldn't be here otherwise. And hey, we can all find something to dissent about - it's not about that, either. It's just, when you are commenting in a clearly G1-esque product thread about how bad G1 is (or whatever you call it) it seems like you're spitting in the wind. And while it's still coming back mainly on you, you still hate to see it as an observer.

(A) Yes, it looks terrible and (B) doesn't resemble Scourge. The TR figure is naff due to the Headmaster gimmick, but at least he visually resembles a classic Scourge.
Besides those are previous lines, which no longer matter. Just as with the inclusion of the Tetrajets, the WFC line is HasTak's chance to right a few wrongs and some like Scourge and Galvatron have deserved better for a long time. Meanwhile they've opted to choke these lines rehashing the same Truck-Prime and Yellow Car-Bumblebee, while keeping them looking for the most part recognisable with various iterations across the franchise.

"I wish they'd done something 180 degrees different from what they did do."
The original CHUG concept was about reinvention, and you can see that from Classics through to T30. WfC isn't even trying to do that, with very limited exceptions. They're trying to be on-model, and that really hasn't been done in a mass market line.
Plus I don't get your point about Scourge, the 2010 flying wing is based on an actual plane, even if it was only an experimental craft.
With the exception of Classics seekers, none of the CHUG designs up to Combiner Wars felt true to me. Now they all do, for better or for worse.

Except he does. Just like Shockwave's "Submarine" Mode, forget the balloon and turn it upside down, he is still Scourge. Albeit Steampunk.

On-model, but shifting the concept ala Tetrajets. There was no such reinvention among the Autobot lines, but that wasn't to say it doesn't exist in WFC. Look at Ironworks, Brunt, Sixgun etc

But Scourge never was an actual plane. He's not even strict a "plane". Plus that was in an older line, not this one. To be honest, keeping Scourge "on model" with an Earth-Based altmode, a speed boat of some kind would be more faithful.

Or they could wait and do him in the next part? As in all seriousness he's more likely to appear in the 2021 line. I'd rather they give the Predators their due, or even completely new characters. Aside from the micromaster bases, sure Earthrise can squeeze one in.

It is hard to know where they are going with the brief of each part at this point. Could this part add some of the other Gimmicks alongside The Masters? The Pretenders perhaps?? The Takara Bots?? They were all Earth-based, at various points.

This is the problem when we're at this point in the toyline life cycle where we only have a snippet of information to go on... That doesn't quite match up with what we've seen. I was wondering if we'd see the rest of wave one before Christmas
Wave 5 of Siege has thrown a wrench in the works a bit.

Re: Transformers War for Cybertron: Earthrise Discussion Thread
We got Pretenders and Powermasters in PotP, with the 30th anniversary of their 1988 debut. If they were going to do those play features in Earthrise, we would know by now. Instead they are continuing Micromasters and Action Master partners, with MM bases replacing Weaponizers. The announced lineup is heavy on '84 and '85, and there are multiple Autobot cars overdue for a revisit, so I think it's safe to assume they'll make up the majority of the waves.
Put simply, I think we can conclude what Earthrise is going to be, even if there are a few surprises coming.

Got this from vector sigma facebook page. Looking at his back, it makes me feel his engineering might be similiar to studio series SS-38, except simplified.

Google translate for caption of above image: "Earthrise Optimus photos appear in hand, we do not know if the blue eyes and hands are custom paint or a factory change (at the last convention I had yellow eyes and gray hands). No photo description available."

let's hope so, it was kinda disturbing with the gray hands.
A nice toy, looks like a smaller version of the MP.
Still, I don't know if I'll get him over the Siege.
Since I'm getting the new MP-44, I already have few G1-accurate Prime, so while it's tempting to have a classic-scaled trailer, I like how they went with a slighty different look with the Siege.
It will surely depend a lot on the price. If I'll find this on a good price, I may still get him, but my main choice for now is stil the Siege.

Universe Cyclonus would like a word with you.
Universe Cyclonus is too small. Great for his time and fits in well with Universe Galvy, but too small now.
And, really, his vehicle mode could be better.
Edit:
Maybe the way I put it is too vague?
"Really good" in a group?
"Really good" amongst current TFs including Titans Galvatron?
"Really good" at an appropriate size?
I have a whole armada of the guy, but he's too small to stand next to a Voyager Galvy or a voyager Starscream. His forever home is with the old Galvy and Scourge moulds in front of Unicron. But he doesn't fit with many other figures. Like a lot of older moulds he's just too small these days.
